Since Crewe away I’ve been flabbergasted by our capacity restrictions.

The away end is an accident waiting to happen with nowhere near enough facilities and several dangerous bottlenecks which relies on folk not panicking.

If that’s at full capacity then I really struggle to understand why we’re limited.

I've always thought this. Must be missing something.

On the train from Bristol to Stafford, change there for Longport. Should be in TommyC's around 1ish

Anyone know a good Oatcake shop on the way up from Longport...??

Can't wait

Oatbakers mate, just up station road. Try the challenger if you’re hungry.

I think there's a really good oatcake shop in Longport in Station Rd Osh. I think it closes about 12.50 on a Saturday

I'm really glad that the reduced prices have worked.

The Barrow/Newport 2 matches for 1 was hit by the weather so I'm pleased for the owners that it's a nice sunny day for the fans. Just think of the money made today?

More people in the club shop etc etc

Fingers crossed for a win so that those who come today may be persuaded to return.

I would love it for Croasdale to score the winner

That’s the first time I’ve ever seen someone basically say our ground is to small 😂

Except I’m not saying that am I. Read it again.

Hartlepool was baffling. There was one entrance to the stand, the narrow doorway on the right if you’re looking at it from the pitch. The one on the other side, which seemed to connect into the home side stand, was closed. In the event of an emergency people would be jumping down onto the pitch which was a considerable drop.

It was demonstrated exactly how poorly thought out it was when a Vale fan collapsed after full time and there was a delay in paramedics getting to him because the congestion through that singular narrow doorway.

Yet it’s the massive stands with multiple egress points at Vale that have been targeted with capacity restrictions? Make it make sense.

I think there's been a long standing lack of transparency over this capacity restriction stuff.

Correct me if I'm wrong as I very well may be but I don't believe there's ever been official word about precisely why they were put in place, and crucially what the long term plan is to remove them.

It absolutely baffles me that Vale have had this enforced upon us, in the context of having been in sold out utterly horrific away ends at Crewe, Hartlepool and Salford in recent years. It doesn't compute.

It needs sorting if we want to continue to progress fanbase wise.

The official capacity on all ground websites is 15270 which is correct.

With respect I am not sure what more transparency you need?

Burton as well, behind the goal. The aisles between the terraces were packed with people standing. I couldn’t physically get into the stand out of the concourse. I asked a steward what he’d do in the event of someone having a cardiac arrest and he said no idea, he didn’t even have a radio.

Why is VP being disadvantaged!?

The questions are in the second paragraph.

The faux, council imposed capacity of 15,270. The real one is was over 21k I believe with the Lorne street completed, minus however many were in the old, now repurposed family stand.

Crewe is a death trap. I fail to see how the authorities do not see this.

Let's kick some Cockney ringpiece today Vale. Hopefully Stockley scores a goal and the officials notice it this time!

I think the hamils now sold out

Few tickets left in the railway paddock.

I genuinely think 75 years of ageing ironwork on the Railway side means that we are where we are...

I believe that within the next 10 years something major will have to happen which is another reason I think we were housed in the Hamil with 1000 extra seats plus the new Lorne St won't take much to make it viable.

Don't want to clog up the matchday thread so we can talk about this elsewhere.  UTV

Hindsight is a wonderful thing due to the weather but it would have been nice to put in the temporary seats in the Lorne Street that they used for the Robbie Williams concert(I'm sure they could get some) and let fans sit in there. Access and exit via the Hamil and I'm sure those stewards who don't do a huge amount, could actually earn their money, and be responsible for letting fans in and out.
