Port Vale v Harrogate match thread - 4th March

Featured Replies

This is certainly not a dig at anybody but I am just interested to know if those wanting us to go gung ho and full on attack(which I think most of us like) would be happy if we did that but lost 3-2 after leaving ourselves open at the back? just a genuine question

No Ifs Buts or Maybes we MUST WIN after yesterdays results.

I think Sang is available again and he would go straight into the team for me. I would also would change the midfield, it didn’t work yesterday.

Amos

Sang Smith Hall

Clarke Byers Croasdale John

Rico

Tolaj Curtis

Get after them and start quickly!

Give him a shot at starting a game

Chiz gives you that goal threat

He’s looked disinterested.

                            Amos

               Debrah Smith Hall

John  Croasdale  Harper Chislett  Clark

                     Curtis Tolaj

Save Hackford for when legs tire, if John injured then Sang in, bring Sang on with 20 mins to go to get mins. If Byers fit then him in for Chiss.

If I was a betting man I'd say Shorrock will play left side. I really hope not let's improve the passing and go for it.

Darren Moore liking all sorts of posts on Facebook tonight. Is that really him?

I'd go

      Amos

John  Smith  Hall Clark

R Richards Croasdale Harper Hart

       Tolaj Curtis

If anything like away game where Henegan Debrah were overall superb and even Grant shone we should see plenty of ball.

Home form is good I'd Change the formation, to variable R Richards can start on right but wander into a 10, John and Clark should get up pitch at 100 miles a hr when in full flow that's when Vale are good ,Harper was good last home game, I'd expect a response if played poorly yesterday Hart also good but wouldn't mind seeing Chizzy start there if Harts not in the team.

Hall brought the ball forwards well v N County he also did v Harrogate away ,I don't want Smith bringing it forwards he can do what he does well defend ,as he cannot attack or use ball quickly enough to make any kind of difference offensively.

All in all a bit of imagination should go a long way

Pretty sure he’s said he doesn’t do any social media.

Well, someone's up to no good on the wonder of you if it isn't him.

Probably a certain Mr. Burge.

I think the phrase "good" and "The Wonder of You Facebook" page shouldn't be used in the same sentence.

I'd prefer to win games any way possible than lose them.

Give me a turgid 1-0 win over a thrilling 4-3 defeat any day of the week.

Truth is there's a happy medium to be had, and we err a lot on the side of caution.

But I'd prefer that and promotion to all out attack and finishing 10th.

I suspect some people on here, and they know who they are, won't be happy unless Moore is sacked either way, just so they can go down the pub and brag they were right all along.

We cannot play a midfield 3 of Byers, Croasdale and Harper again. None of them are forward thinking enough and it makes the gap between attack and midfield massive.

As a result, Curtis drops deeper and leaves Hackford on his own, which isn’t fair.

My team for Harrogate:

3-4-2-1: Amos; Sang, Smith, Hall; Clark, Byers, Croasdale, John; Curtis, Chislett; Tolaj

Attack attack attack

I agree with Clark for Hart, not sure about Tolaj starting and can't believe you would start Chislett over Harper. Harper does a lot of work and is both defensive and attacking with goals in him.

Can’t agree on Harper. Watch him off the ball and he just stands still. Offensively I can’t think of a time he has made an incisive, defence-splitting pass.

I just don’t see what he brings. If he’s not in his game, it’s like playing with 10.
