Jeez, I've found the video, I'm the one in dark blue next to the bloke in the stripe shirt. Just to the left of our keeper, you see my head duck down.

Remember it well. I was in the Crewe end for this, the main stand where the cameras are. If we think the allocation is bad now (it is) it was only 800 that night. Remember Vale fans couldn't tell McCarthy's goal had gone in, took a while for them to start celebrating.

Update on ticket availability (sponsored by Mellor) shows about 100 left.

Nephews m8 wants go ,i dont understand how he hasnt got enough points as he goes regularly away with nephew ,only got 225 points me I've never understood how work out points season ticket holder last season aswell .

Do they factor that in when buying away tickets as I'm.sure I should be on 340 minimum as went Harrogate and should have extra 200 for a long trip like that lol

Inspiral carpets??? I think my mum had one fitted in the living room in the 80’s.

Yep, better than the lino and "silver fish" that preceded them.😅

Silver fish brings memories back.

I was in the away seating at the far left hand side of the old wooden main stand.

The reason nobody celebrated was because of the way their keeper Mark Gayle left it. Crewe signed that Aussie keeper who looked like Zelda off Terrahawks and I don't think Gayle ever played for them again.

Maybe I was with the Vale fans in that stand too then. Just remember feeling like I was surrounded by Crewe fans when they scored, was there standing in front of the seating with home fans in?

Not sure fst, but that stand I was in is the home end for Crewe fans now. It was the away end in those days.

For the older fans amongst us, did Vale win 5-1 at Gresty Rd in the late 70s with one Bernie Wright (Bernie's evil!) netting a hat-trick? Perhaps I've dreamt it?

NO you are RIGHT!!

I was there, Bernie stood on some  Crewe players head!!💯❤️😂🤣

Yeah it's the Gresty Road End. Only been in it once, the 0-0 when Murphy was back at Crewe on loan from Liverpool. They were building the new main stand at the time, so that was the last time we were in there. It was the ice cream stand after that.

I was supposed to go in the GRE in 97, but it was postponed after Diana died and I was on a school residential at Keele Uni when the rearranged game was played. Mills scored the winner.

Bank Holiday Monday August 78 was my favourite. Standing behind the goal at the station end on a pile of rubble.

Beanie Wright scored 3 in the last half an hour kicking towards us !

Won 5-1 with what was probably our worst squad in the clubs history.

Happy Days.
