How is it other teams in this division can charge matchday prices less than us, operate in profit, finish higher than us on much smaller average attendances and some get promition?

That is the million dollar question and a question no one has been able answer to date

The answer is simple.Managers are smarter(or luckier) in getting the right players within the wage budget available. I'm not knocking Micky Adams. During his first stint as Manager he appeared to have assembled a squad of players( as limited as they were) who were capable of at least getting into the play offs. That,of course, was before he left for Sheffield United and the club went into meltdown. How things would have turned out had he stayed, we will never know. Now he's back he appears to have acquired better quality players than we had then. Has he been astute enough or lucky enough to have got the right players? Time will tell. The jury is still out regarding his ability to obtain the players who can get us out of this division.

my own opinion is that the 'business skills' of Messrs. Bratt, Deakin, Miller and the rest have left us a potential several hundred thousand (maybe a million) down....

Threads like this certainly don't help our cause to get 5000 fans.those that can't afford £20 now will probably never get to see vale again as prices will increase In years to come.i suspect though many of these people just aren't prepared to make the £1.50 sacrifice a day required for them to be able to attend, and are trying to justify this by getting others who don't attend to agree with them.these are the same people that said they would start going again once Bratt and co left.something doesn't add up though.maybe they just don't want to go to the match enough and think that moaning on onevalefan constitutes being a port vale fan.it doesn't

How long did it take you to do that survey. Can you show all the results of the survey including the amount of people you did survey and what percentage have returned, stayed away?

Apology accepted..... £20 isnt a lot.... if you have it.... if you dont it may as well be £100.

The last three results have been encouraging and start to lean towards value for money. I cant really comment on the entertainment value as I have only been to one of the games... although the one I saw was better by some way to the previous game I saw.

I know money isnt everything but if you dont have ANY its pretty damn close... Ive been there.

£20 is one of the highest prices in this league, until we become one of the best teams in the league [results and performance] its too high.

The facts are this. It is £20 to get in..if you really wanted to go, you would. If we drew Stoke in the cup, you would find the £20.

Some people chose to spend £20 a day on fags/booze and take aways, but moan they cant afford to go.

£20 is a lot for div 4 football, but to keep the club afloat it is a small price to pay.

Trouble is, there are some people on this forum that will find any excuse not to go to the game. first it was the board, now it is the admission price.

noone was moaning against Shrewsbury when there was 9,000? no.

Man up, and stop whinging and turn up on Saturday. and please dont give me the story about "i cant afford it, times are hard"

I cant either, but i find that £20 by sacrificing elsewhere to make it there.

Truth hurts.

As people keep saying success is the only thing that will cosistantly increase gates, don't think even a price reduction would achieve this.

Very true. £15 and we may get another 500 if lucky. waste of time.

what they are better off doing is £10 games on tuesday nights from time to time, to attract those that cant afford to go often.
