Conrad, I remember watching the tv programme about when they were taken over. Not all fans were for it some saying that the club lose it’s identity are were against the takeover. Saying that they just wanted to remain where they were in the league.

But do they still have the meat raffle?

While we were sloppy with the ball at times and not great in the final third, we looked like a proper League Two team. Really solid in defence and midfield. Big and strong. Plenty of movement up front. The better football will come as players gel and form partnerships, and the likes of Chislett and Byers come into the team. You're talking about what will be two of the best handful of players in the whole of League Two.

Ben Garrity. A League 2 cheat code.

What on earth are you talking about?

I know what a cheat code is! I used to sell books full of them for video games.

There were 1366 Vale fans. Let’s assume 80% were blokes. So let’s say roughly 1,000 blokes. I’m told there were 5 urinals. The queues were enormous.

No photos ??

I am older than you Jean and still no the wiser!

Watched on Sky Plus (thought the coverage was decent and nice to watch it on the tele rather than an app on the iPad like previous!).

Firstly great away following could only hear Vale fans… oddly when it panned to Salford fans they all seemed to be checking their phones probably for how their main clubs got in the Community Shield!

The away kit looks incredibly bright on TV! Haven’t picked mine up yet as not local but actually liked it!

Performance was superb in terms of the professionalism of it, we looked edgy, battled hard and whilst it wasn’t all silky smooth football and we did play some loose passes we looked a level above the opposition, never really looked in danger of losing the game and managed it very well.

Sang was superb today, Hart impressed, looked better than I expected, Croasdale kept the midfield ticking over and Garrity was back to his best. Debrah looked very assured and comfortable too. Paton and Tolaj grew into the game, Tolaj slower than Paton too but once he had that burst which got him clean through he seemed to pick up, all be it could of been in hot water with that tackle on half time.

Curtis did well, good delivery and again had an edge to him.

Mad to think it’s August and that’s our third win of 2024 but the sings more so than the result we’re positive, we looked very assured, away from home with some big players to come back in, keep it up Vale!

I don’t care how we win away from home. Yes it wasn’t pretty but that doesn’t matter. Considering the players we have out its a solid start and I think we can only get better.

I'm in Blackpool for a break with the family. Get there Sunday so if you fancy a pint or 2 let me know

Now to the serious point UTV and a win today will be a perfect start

I don’t drink mate, taking my lad to see the air show ✈️ tomorrow if I’m about I’ll drop you a message. Enjoy your break @corbanlovesvale and a rare away win 😆

It's very unfortunate that we've had to start the season with 7 players out.

Clark, Smith, Jones, Byers, Stockley, Grant, John. Not sure if John is a registration thing, you'd think so, but nevertheless we started today with over a quarter of our outfielders unavailable. 27% of the entire squad couldn't be picked!

To have that to put up with and still win is good going.

Only a cameo but I really liked the look of BBB, very aggressive but with the key skill of being comfortable on the ball at the same time. Tolaj is deceptively quick, him and BBB could wreak some havoc on the counter with a through ball or two.

Overall defensively a good watch apart from two longish range efforts what CR saved well not a single chance created by them ,very pleasing .

Going forwards lots to work on bit poor in possession at times .

A win nothing get major excited about it's a long season but nice to see a win what I liked was we put more challenges in,blocking shots at our goal which will be   major in determining how we will fare as season evolves,

It was a very committed effort

More of that

Oh, and the ability to score from set plays. Imagine that!

And the ability not to concede from them…..
