The topic wasn’t suggesting it be bought back on the team shirts, just on some of the merchandise, which it already is…….That said I’d have the V badge back in a heartbeat……along with some nice new V floodlights.👍🏻

It was a Paul Wildes initiative.

And to be fair to Wildes he asked fans to vote on the design...

They did a presentation about the club and respecting the past and the resurrection of the old badge came out of that. The presentation is here - https://www.onevalefan.co.uk/images/Port-Vale.pdf

Initially the design had the wording "For all those who have gone before" (a reference to the past) on it but that was removed and tweaked to the current design.

Grew up with the previous badge and still don't like this one. Far too old fashioned feeling, but at least the morbid strap line was removed.

No keep the lovely traditional one we have now. No other choice needed.  We are a tradional club and the present  badge depicts us for the club we are.  8 was delighted when this tradional badge returned.

For what's it's worth, I like the current crest too.

I don't like that 80-90s crest because of the weird shade of blue. It's not a Wedgwood blue (which at least would be more in keeping) as that's a lighter shade but some random blue colour. 

I think the current crest with the white, black and gold colour design is more appropriate.

However, I have a suggestion...

If the club can add player letters to shirts perhaps they ought to be innovative and start a badge personalisation function where fans can have their vintage badge of choice added? I'm not being entirely serious by the way - I'm pretty sure the badge is added when the shirt is made and it's impractical to individualise that part of the kit - but perhaps it's the only way to placate a splintered fanbase on which crest to use.
