I have read the article and fully respect Carol and Kevin for saving the club from Smurf but still feel the club needs more investment to clear out the dead wood like loft and jones who are on ridiculous long term contracts and need to be moved on to rebuild the team but I haven’t been overly impressed with the manager but we need to rebuild to at least stay in division two and hopefully build to getting promoted again

For a 5 year anniversary this looks incredibly tinpot.

An interview with a failed DJ, sat in a hotel room on a grainy camera.

Plus I thought Carol was taking a back seat from the spotlight, yet here she is doing an interview!!!

It does say 'impromptu' to be fair. Suggests it wasn't long in the planking department.

Interesting interview by two nice, well-meaning people who rescued the club when we were at rock bottom and poured millions in trying to improve us on and off the pitch.

Listening to them made me think, however, that they still do not understand football nor what makes a successful club tick. At the end, it was only when things reached the point of no return with Flitcroft that they did what they should have done months before. And the same with Crosby, who should have gone much earlier in the autumn, and previously with Askey, when fortunately we had DC to bail us out. It tells me that the club was seriously lacking any depth and expertise to provide independent advice and guidance in how and when to intervene.

So the biggest weakness in what we have seen so far is that we still seem to have little or no footballing nous or insight behind the scenes. It's alright saying the plan is to let DM and MH get on with their jobs but, in the absence of serious expertise on the Board to give our owners an objective assessment of the manager's performance and results on the pitch, who will she turn to for advice? How then will she hold DM to account? Who will advise her on when to step in? And more importantly, who will help her to develop a serious footballing strategy, a plan to implement it and the means to critically evaluate it?

Imho, we seriously need some football hardened Non-Execs on the Board who know a thing or two about footy or we may very well find ourselves in the same place yet again.

I wish them luck - we have a lot to thank them for.

But gets called out if she’s completely silent 🤔

Do you know what I like the import relaxed holiday setting gentle chat.

They say nothing which we all ready know  but I really don't want to hear much from the owners, as they say leave managing the club to Matt Hancock. I think it's a big positive Carol is taking a backward step in the day to day running.

But if she's taking a back seat, take a back seat, don't do an interview if some wild haired loon comes up to you and asks you to do an interview about your 5 year anniversary of running the club.

At the very least she could have done something with the club, Mike Baggaley or Bowers before they went away

This just looks awful.

She can’t win if she completely takes a seat back tho can she, people will moan that she’s hiding etc. I think after 5 years to the day it was the correct decision to do an interview. What I do agree with you tho is it should of been done with someone associated with the club like Baggers or Bowers 👍🏻

Is he a loon? His hair looks no wilder than that of the Granville in your avatar.

Yes, it is ironic that Carol said she'd do fewer interviews and then does one a few days later. It is also ironic that she says in the interview that she was upset by unfair and cruel negative comments online and you then start calling the interview a "wild haired loon".

Come on, you can't think this guy is a professional. I heard his show on Radio Stoke years ago, and it was dreadful. He also doesn't really know anything about the cub which is quite obvious "a historic day in Port Vale" like its an actual place.

Is it too much to ask this was done properly?

I have a lot of respect for Carol but I really get exasperated that she will say she's not doing something then does it anyway within a few days.
