EFL Community Project of the Season - 2024

Recommended Posts

Apologies if this has already been posted elsewhere on OVF, but it is worthy of note.

Very well done to Carol and to everyone at the club who has made this a reality.

In League One, Port Vale is recognised for the Club’s Community Cupboard and Lounge initiative, which has supported over 6,000 people in the last 12 months with cost-of-living challenges.

Meanwhile, relegated when other teams will finish with less than 50 points and no win on a Tuesday night for 2 years.

It's not an either / or choice.

It's possible for us to be a good citizen for the local community AND to achieve success on the field - as Vale demonstrated in the promotion season.

The fact that the football has gone badly this season doesn't take away from the worth of this community achievement.

Port Vale is a lot more than just a football club.

This season aye? What about the last one too?

I'm afraid that at present, in the circumstances, no one cares. The constant feed of this stuff coming out of the club, the North Korea like idolation in reminding us of her OBE every time Carol's name is mentioned on the OS, the tone deafness in communication when we've won 5 games in 7 months is just aggravating the fan base.

Alan Vit who joined OVF on March 25th.

Not sure who you are but comedy is all about timing and to post this today stinks. !!

ollyandpatch who is an ADMIN on OVF

I'm a life-long Vale supporter who has lived the highs and (more) lows, and learned to take both with a pinch of salt and still stay positive.

I had thought that this was a Vale football forum where supporters could express their own points of view in their own words.

If I'm mistaken, perhaps you could share the forum's rules for making posts which don't "stink" so that they gain your approval?

Doha,

My views are not "coming out of the club".

As I've said previously, I have never worked for the club and I never will, because I work elsewhere.

I have also never met any of the Shanahans, although I'd like to, because I respect all that they have put into our club in money and effort, and no doubt in putting up with stress and aggravation as well.

The football has been largely appalling this season.

That doesn't mean that everything done by the club has been appalling, when clearly some of it is of great worth.

Well Carol will be able to get another award with League 2 on it to go with this one next year.

Then the year after with Non-League Community Awards on it.
