I think that Colin Garlick  wasn’t a yes man, so he was sacked, along with other hard working and experienced employees over a period of time. Then it all went to <ovf censored>. I’ve never seen Port Vale Football Club in such a pitiful state from top to bottom. Correct me if I’m ( eventually) wrong , but I think that Vale will be relegated next season as well. All the signs are there. No one knows what they’re doing at the club. Too many egos .

Yes, it was around January 2023 when strange things started to happen at the club. This being a classic example. It's a bit simplistic to say it was all Flitcroft's doing. Whatever the root cause all the pigeons are coming home to roost now.

If 4 went down from L2, I'd be minded to say we're in danger of a double dip.

Will take some doing. Don't think the club would recover from such a disaster though.

Yeah I'm 100% behind this. Before then, things looked professional, competent, fan engagement was good.

For all the support Carol has gotten and gets, there has to be a bit more to the story about what's going on.

There's clearly other things going on that would explain the whole vibe of the Club, both on and off the Pitch, changing as it has. We're not in a good place and what happens over the Summer will be crucial to the future of the Club.

It started when DC went off script by saying we’d had an awful January window just days after Madame Chair had done the Corporate Glossy staged propaganda of what a good window we’d had.

He was no longer ‘on the bus’ and had to be removed.  Sometimes Carol someone else on the bus might just have a better view and can see the cliff edge!

Everything since has been big brother speak telling us what we should be thinking of what’s going on, and should ignore what we can see going on, culminating in the ‘don’t you dare say that about my Flicker’ defence document.

To date she has not redacted from formally this written statement - probably because she still thinks she was correct, but ultimately he had to go to negate any negative press, and to hopefully help shift season tickets.  Even SMURF was big enough to say the Bruno experiment was all on him, even if The Shanahans and us ultimately paid the price.

Well Clarke was right, it was a poor January window. Which is why I said things began to turn in the January. It was that window that did for Clarke, but instead we were told how he was a broken man and had to go. Fiddlesticks. As you say he had gone off script and was contradicting the powers that be, which is why he got sacked at the earliest opportunity.

Askey, Crosby and then Flitcroft himself by contrast were kept well beyond the point where fans were calling for them to go.

I think as time goes on, you can't describe Carol as inexperienced or not knowing what she's doing, so that would explain the "letting go" of experienced senior employees. All of which is fine except the jury is out at present on the current "powers that be". For me the model of trying to develop our own production line is going ok but lags behind the needs of the first team. Going down means it's going to be more difficult to attract the Arblaster / Devines of this world and Weir and the anonymous lad from Man U have been completely inadequate replacements.

What’s to be gained from dragging this old chestnut up?  Whatever the circumstances behind CG leaving he isn’t the reason we’ve been relegated.

It’s not an “old chestnut” though is it? It’s still raw considering it was only one year ago.
The point being that from that point, give or take a few weeks, the club has been sinking like a ship ever since.

Good people at this club have been tossed aside like yesterdays news. Colin being one.

I said all along Carol was being gaslighted by Flitcroft. I’ll stand by that forever and a day. And it’s not an easy thing to come to terms with once you realise it.

Her relationship with Colin always seemed strong. And especially Clarke.

It was a sad end and the start of our ultimate demise unless an absolute miracle happens on Saturday.
