I'm treating Plant and Shorrock as wingback cover as opposed to playing in the wide attacking roles.

Those 9 players competing for what can be, at most, 4 attacking spots is standing out as unsustainable. There's no way you can keep all 9 of them happy. Stockley, Paton, Tolaj, Curtis, Garrity, and Chislett will probably expect to play most games, and Benicio, Dipepa, and Edwards aren't here to sit around without minutes as they could have ended up elsewhere this summer.

I know there's injuries, form, fixture congestion etc but gut instinct is that one of those 9 goes. 

Regardless, there's depth to the squad.

No offence but Lowe could never be classed as a midfielder he's a poor man's defender and that's pushing it , mate 🙊😁

I don't think you can take that as absolute evidence of a clause. It could be simply saying he's got a 1 year deal but if he does we'll offer him another deal. A one year deal without an extension clause does literally mean that he'll be here until at least the summer of 2025 (unless sold/released earlier)

It's a bit specific though isn't it? We recently signed Leutwiler, Agyakwa and Holden on 1 year deals and it wasn't phrased it that way in their press releases.

If we did offer him a contract we'd get compensation if someone else came in anyway as under 23 but imagine most likely some form of trigger clause to cover us further.

I hope Chizzy isn’t off but if he is I wish him all the best in his next chapter. Great little player & a fantastic character

Not really after the injury he had. And there is most likely an extension clause in there if required, like Blackpool did with Garrity, and Shot with Tolaj.
