Someone on social media posted that the daily record sport have tweeted to say vale are closing in on paton for a 6 figure fee?

It would seem crazy (in a good way) for us to go and get another forward of that calibre and cost!! 

Given how quiet all our other signings have been kept, could this just be agent talk whipping up the bidding with a classic move of getting his man named in the paper as close to signing somewhere?

Not to mention the goals you get behind from Chislett, Garrity and Curtis. They're potentially 10 apiece just themselves. 

Garratty scored was it 12 last season in an atrocious team. In a higher calibre of team and against potentially worse defenders could he match or exceed that? I think it’s possible.

Didn't somebody mention on here, before the investment in Synectics that Carol and Kevin were due a significant windfall that would be a game changer? I did wonder how on earth we'd managed to give Moore a huge contract on a supposed 250k per year and now this spending is almost unprecedented. Maybe they are looking to use the extra money to push us up through the leagues?
