As good as Paton could be he would be on a par with the Tolaj signing so for me wouldn't top the Byers one plus didn't DD say it wasn't true what he put.

The mistake DF made not having bringing a goal scorer in and having zero creativity in the squad. It was obvious even from his stats that Loft was never going to work as a lone striker. Just another example of DFs awful recruitment as time went on. My work takes me to Bristol sometimes and the fans of Rovers I spoke to thought Loft worked better in a two when they got the up to him early to chase / bully centre halves. Plus he was mainly used as a player to bring on when they were chasing a game. So fk knows what we were doing with him. 
 

There’s no denying the element of fans that were booing him before he even came on or mocking him in the warmup make us look bad IMO. I can’t get on board with that. Last season was horrendous and Loft will probably always be seen as the standard bearer for everything that went wrong. Maybe he’ll come good at Cambridge, I actually hope he does, he needed to get away from here and we needed him out. He may have done better for us this season with better strikers around him and a more attacking system, of course we’ll never know, but on paper it looks like we’ve made much better signings as a whole this time round with different types of striker and attackers to complement each other.

Bet 365 here in Australia changed our odds from 15/1 to 17/1 right after we signed Byers. Not sure whether to place the bet now or hope we drop to 19/1 if we sign Paton.

I aren't sure we will announce anyone over the weekend but to announce one on Monday would be a great start to a working week

I have also just realised that it is only 4 weeks today until the first game of the season 😮
