Summer transfer rumours and speculation

You could say that about majority of last year's players .
They have everything to gain and lots to prove to each and every supporter .
Turn that anger what was rightly thrown at players into cheers .
Sang didn't play that often he certainly did OK v Leyton Orient away linking with Massey and v Wigan away .
Yes he was part of that 7-0 first game defeat but so we're 10 others who were culpable for that monstrosity of a defeat .

Didn’t play that often ????
He played 38 league games plus cup matches

I keep hearing this but when at cardif that’s where he played wing back , in centre mid I can’t see him adding anything he’s positionally poor , can’t tackle , doesn’t see a pass , doesn’t score etc

When he first came in his interview he said one of his strengths was getting down the wing and whipping in a good ball

Now if he was a centre midfielder he wouldn’t be posting that as his main strength

He’s not getting in centre midfield in a million years

If he’s going to play wing back then he needs to improve dramatically

I hope he does improve but I have a feeling he will be moved on quickly if he doesn’t by Xmas if not before

I'd agree with that. Whether he's played centre midfield or wingback he doesn't seem to read a game when defending.  When he should go tight he drops deep, when he goes deep he should be going tight. It's not impossible for him to improve. He was good in that right centrehalf role centrehalf role vs Wigan. Maybe that's worth revisiting if he stays. More often than not he can attack the ball or stay tight and there is some freedom to get forward and get balls in.

Good competition for places is key.

Last season the team almost picked itself despite players struggling for form, fitness and mentality.

Reading between the lines, Dipepa aside, I don’t think any of our best players will leave unless we have an unbelievably good offer.

Correct we need to be in a position where if a player gets injured we think oh well that's it then and we end up playing someone well out of position,we need like for like cover

4th most starts of any outfield player and appeared in all bar 8 games. I'd agree there's an inner player if you can find the key. Part of the solution is for him to look at what he did well and poorly. It's not impossible he will go on to have a good career.

I have a sneaking suspicion all these signings are happening because Baylee will be gone for a big fee. Just my opinion but even so good for C&K to reinvest in the team. Looking good so far.

Dipepa will obviously go at some point but that's not the reason we are spending, that is because Carol and Kevin are following through with their word of backing Moore heavily and trying to make up for the mistakes of the last couple of seasons and there is probably more to come.

if and when Dipepa does go then i wouldn't blame her for having some back but again I do think she will put more of that into the pot for January and the Academy  maybe,we are going for it

Onwards and Upwards me owd fruits

He did well in the EFL Trophy games in general.  Struggled to make the same impact in League 1 matches.  He's a decent prospect but I think Shorrock and Dipepa are better. If he stays I'm fairly sure he'll get game time under Moore.  He and his agent need to decide if that is better for his long-term development; or potentially 5 seasons playing age group football.

What if he moves to someone like Crewe but is guaranteed regular game time? Surely that would be  better footballing career move for him?

To be fair it might be. Very good history of developing young players. My guess is that Leon is looking at a Championship or Premiership move for him. Crewe won't pay more than us.

Crewe definitely would have paid more than us prior to this new season but I believe the shackles are off with regards to wages. About time as well! Probably one season too late but got to be positive about our chances this coming season.

Not sure how you work that one out WV. Crewe have been notorious for paying some of the lowest wages in the league. I can't recall any player going to Crewe that we were in for. I was talking to a Crewe fan yesterday who said Crewe had matched the sell on clause for Tolaj but he chose us because we offered far more in wages that they did. We have players from last season who are on far more than any Crewe player.
