I forget the team, think it was a French club. They had a poor defeat and the coach had the ultras give the team a public dressing down. After that the team's confidence was completely shot and they tumbled down the table. Being humiliated in public rarely has a positive effect unless a person has a unusual perversion.

Well let’s face it there’s not much of the table left for us to tumble down. As for being humiliated in public, our players are more than capable of doing that to themselves.

Funny that people think this is whats needed.

Arguably the best manager ever, Arsene Wenger, never ever shouted at his players.  His argument was that the moment they crossed the whitewash he'd already told them how he wanted to play.
