Benning played well for a fifth of the games he played for us, for 4/5 he was crap.

Benning IMO is much better as an out and out left back rather than a wing back. Unfortunately we never played that formation. I bet when they turn up Saturday that he looks more comfortable playing as a left back for them.

Thats much better than any left sided player we have had this season.

Like a lot of players, yes they needed replacing but only for better ones.

Flitcroft has failed us big style AGAIN

Very true… people miss players if we don’t replace with better. It’s DF’s fault the club is not moving forward, the bench mark wasn’t very high to find better replacements for Benning, Harrison, maybe even Cass yet we miss them because our recruitment has been garbage.

He wasn't very good but much better than Grant. That's the problem here - we had some fairly average / rubbish players who we got rid of and replaced them with very rubbish players.

I personally always thought Benning got some unfair flack. However, I could see the logic in him going if he was to be replaced with a better player. The problem is - as others have pointed out - he hasn't been replaced with anyone better.

What I want to know is, in line with most businesses, did David Flitcroft have an appraisal by his employers. If so, what did the Vale class as failure which would put his job at stake?

I think auntie Carol gave us his job appraisal in a letter a couple of weeks back

To be fair, connor grant is, on paper, that better player. Most fans hailed that as a good signing but its obviously not turned out that way.

That site normally spouts some rubbish and a quick glance at the "author" shows his articles don't carry a lot of research.

Ben Garrity can play as a striker? Who knew???

Have you actually read his 4 articles on Vale? What is wrong with them exactly?

People interested in reading about the FL who aren't Vale fans, I'd imagine. It isn't an opinion piece on OVF.

Its clickbait rubbish with no substance. These sites are always full of rumour, conjecture and rubbish that anyone could write. They're not done by professionals.

Writing a big piece on how letting a player who looked out of his depth in League One drop down to League Two where he has looked comfortable before is not "news", neither is a revelatory piece that our top scorer who has played as a striker many times could be the answer to our striker problems.

There's too many of them out there claiming "insight" and "news" when its nothing of the sort.

I'll write in and let him know Granville's decided he should stop.

He shouldn't stop, just maybe watch a few games or speak to fans about what is actually going on rather than just put no thought into it?
