I know little about Gayle aside from he's played top level football. But surely he must be looking at what to do at the end of his career. And surely, coming to Port Vale could provide a route into coaching etc.

Wiki does say Dwight Gayle is out of contract. Therefore this really isn't implausible although I have no real insight. His contract was terminated on 1 February.

If he owns the orange Avenger with the black vinyl roof then it must be him. I think there was a tinted sun strip across the top of the windscreen with “Dwight” written on the drivers side and “Mandy” on the passenger side. 
If Flitcroft pulls this one off I’ll take it all back, what I have been saying about him.

I’m in dream land here! That would be right up there, he’s way too good for league 1 & scored bags of goals everywhere he’s been apart from Stoke! Make of that what you want. Storm Darren & Gayle force wind 🔥

Not really. Previous windows suggested a lack of funds on the playing side. We have repeatedly sold players and loft aside (god help us) not paid a fee for a player and have consistently to gone down the route of young loanees where in many cases the parent club may pay a %of they’re wage. 

If this comes off then it’s a brilliant signing and like Moore a massive boost for the club. I do think the club thought we were safe and could move into next year doing the same thing over and over again. The dire form I think has finally alerted them to a big chance of relegation and forced their hand. Clearly doing everything we can to remain in the division. Which is all we can ask. I would hope (and expect with a manager like Moore and past experiences to go on) that more is invested in the football in the coming years rather than other off the pitch issues which need to be lower on the list imo.

That makes complete sense tbf weekly or monthly deal with a goals bonus,had a rough ride at stoke but who doesn't,I am 100% certain he would score goals in League one playing in a system that suits him,we need a striker and he has been a very good one in his career,you dont just lose that

The stadium is more or less good enough for the level we are at and the fan base we currently have. We should be competing on a level playing field (I know) with the likes of Peterborough, Oxford, Orient, Bristol Rovers, Lincoln etc. A competent manager would have had us doing that this season, but now we are at risk near the bottom of the table with injuries and our good young players returned to their clubs. So it's time for a rescue mission right now. We have to win games and someone like Gayle could get us the goals needed.

Also gayle may not command the wages we would think. Sjoke have just given him a big pay off. If he’s looking to potentially move into coaching as well, could be ideal.
