Moore must have known relegation was a distinct possibility, surely he can't walk if we do go down as:

His career will be on the downslide and he'll need to restore it to get a decent job

He'll look insincere if he signs a really long deal then walks away (as I don't think he'll be sacked.)

So what are people's thoughts on the chances that he will be our manager should we go down? I am not personally going to judge his performance until he's had a significant number of games under his belt having had the chance to shape his own team. I hope he gets the chance to do that whatever league we are in.

I don't think we can even look at his tactics / formations / subs too much at this stage as in all seriousness, what can he do? It'll only change when he brings players in to play the style he wants and he is responsible for managing them having had direct input.

There's absolutely no way he's going to walk!  Would you?  When there's a BIG fat payout of any unused part of a five and a half year contract if he's sacked!

Is there anybody left on here who actually thinks we will stay up?

With the number of teams on less than 40 points, it is of course, mathematically possible, especially with one & two games in-hand on most of those teams. Do I really think we will avoid the drop?  No!

You mean two defeats in Hand? 🤔

Reading got deducted another two points this week, so every little helps

We’ve picked up three points on three occasions in the last 6 months.

Let that sink in.

What sane supporting fan actually thinks we can get out of this?

And any fan who bangs on about supporting the lads. The 12th man. All that crap. They’re delusional.

Derby will batter us.

Doomsayer here. I can’t see us staying up. We’ll be down with 3 games to go, Flitcroft, or whatever he’s called these days, will stay . Rinse and repeat next season , and suddenly , after 5 years, we find ourselves playing Curzon Ashton, Hereford FC , and Scarborough Athletic.  It could happen. I don’t think the current side would beat any of those teams, because all 3 have a bit of passion about them. Watch this space, or look away , whatever you like.

I was talking mathematics.  One has to remain optimistic, although I expect your realism is probably nearer the mark!

I know, apologies. At least I am kinda bothered but given up. During the Hank Twatiker years I don't think I even checked the scores for two seasons. I am heading that way again.

Don't apologise for being realistic.  I guess we all need optimism to continue being PV fans, but 99% of us are realists!

Ask a fan of, say, Hereford, Chester, Torquay or Oldham if they would swap places right now, I wonder what they would say.

What about the numerous sides above us?

I doubt any would be tempted, it's all relative isn't it. Do you really think I want relegation ?,

I want us to be winning the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup on a regular basis but it's a bit like asking for World Peace, an end to Famine and Free Health Care for all.

And to be 'realistic', there may be quite a number of teams above us, but there are far more 'numerous' teams below us.

"We are on the way" I expect...
