Last time i woke up this excited for a cup game at Vale park was my very first game as a 10 year old boy. Arsenal in 1998, attendance that night was given as 14,964. No way was there under 15k that night. If we can get the atmosphere rocking tonight it's going to give the lads so much energy. Let's make some noise & as i've already said i can sense an upset coming on! 2-1 Devine & Ben. Boss 💪🏻

I genuinely believe we can win this one. It will happen like this:

- Strong start straight from the kickoff

- After several shots we score on 20th minute

- Have a second ruled out on 25th minute (people nudge each other and say “these look shaky”)

- Slog away til HT (people nudge each other and say “these are offering nothing. I think we could win this”)

- Middlesbrough come flying in the second half and we can’t string a pass together. We hold out until AC makes the first substitutions and Middlesbrough score on 65th minute

- Lofty comes on in 75th minute and scores on 78th

- Absolute backs to the wall. Defensive slip up gift’s Middlesbrough a goal on 90+5….. but it’s ruled out and we win.

yet the club already said they will give him one for his service. It was supposed to be at the end of last season but nothing

I don't think there was nothing. I can't remember the exact words but the Supporters Club, who were organising it said it had been delayed. I believe it was because of the pitch being relaid in the summer. Bit tricky to have a testimonial when there's trenches in the ground.

I can see the point that there should be more information on if/when it's happening but I just wanted to correct the comment that there was "nothing" said - there was, that it was delayed.

Crazy I can watch this on local TV and not give the club money via iFollow

If it's on TV anywhere, such as overseas, the club get a broadcasting fee. That's the whole reason the Premier League is the richest in the world, so having it free to air somewhere doesn't mean the club is losing out on revenue. Yes, you're not individually contributing (which is why it's so easy to be an armchair Man Utd or Chelsea fan, there doesn't have to be any personal cost) but the club will benefit from the broadcast.

So, if you can't get to the ground (e.g. you're abroad) and you're somewhere where's it on, sit back and enjoy. Over the years of supporting Vale through thick and thin you've undoubtedly more than earned the right to watch it for nowt (and you'll hopefully watch a famous win too).
