It was poor before the switch

I'm not suggesting otherwise - although maybe people forget that promotion seasons (and the atmosphere they bring) are the exception not the norm.

I've felt all along that the "improved fan experience" was Trojan-horse spiel for getting away fans as far as possible from home fans. This is clearly all part of going down the family-friendly route, and it won't be long before people are being turfed out for swearing.

I'm not sure how many people actually want this but it's clearly Carol's vision. It's probably one reason why a number of fans prioritise a few away games a season rather than have a home season ticket - because put bluntly it's more fun.

Putting money into strikers isn’t just the answer though.

Agreed. We haven’t had a decent midfielder who can manage passing the ball to create chances since Danny Sonner. He was incredible in central midfield, just simply pinged the ball the in right areas to create chances. A major reason why Constantine got so many and got called lazy. He was perceived to be lazy because he didn’t have to do anything.

Guarantee Loft would have about 10 goals with Sonner feeding him.

Ojo’s Wikipedia entry describes him as “a versatile midfielder who links defence and attack by winning the ball and passing it on to more creative teammates”

Who are these more creative teammates? 😂

It's the elephant in the room as regards the move but there's seemingly no place for home and away fans chanting at each other at Vale any more. Sorry to say but a lot of the fun has been sucked out since the move. People can opine as they see fit about how it shouldn't matter but it does, and I'll say "Good luck" to anyone trying to get new fans to come along and enjoy a flat atmosphere.

I'd love to think that the move could be reversed but that won't happen.

I do agree to a degree but the issue with the atmosphere is the team. The majority of matches have been boring to watch. It’s up to the players to make things happen, excite fans to help generate the atmosphere. In every game this season we sit in pass the ball and wait to see what the opposition are doing. I long for the days when we go after teams in the 1st 15 mins because that gets the crowd going.

Whats worse ,which is how it felt in the away end Saturday, as soon as we concede you think game over and it goes very flat.

Your right regarding the promotion season

I disagree with the getting us away from the away fans for the family experience I’m certain carol wants the atmosphere and it was DC who originally pushed for it

It certainly not helping there being gaps between every stand in the ground I also think the main problem is us as fans most vale are just not the type to shout and sing unless the ref starts performing against us

Look at Saturday 1600 odd and 90% just sat there

I don’t want go on about other clubs but our apprentice goes away with stoke and the videos he shows me are 90% young lads going nuts away from home

Maybe another point is the Hamil move has split the lads up with some staying up in the stand

Sorry don’t understand this comment, aren’t they just as close now as they were before, in fact can’t more home fans be seated nearer away fans than they could previously (at the Bycars ends of both the paddock and Lorne St?

Nobody has migrated from Hamil end of the Paddock to the Bycars end. Any singing mob in the Paddock has been decimated this season ( maybe gone in the Hamil ).

And the Lorne Street has never to my knowledge had any singing ?

I go in the lorne Street, have done for 33 years apart from the odd game and that season it was closed to make it seating.

I'd actually suggest that singing is actively discouraged in Lorne Street! Lol

He'll be back on later and respond to yours and every other post that has the slightest criticism of a football club that has one of the worst records in the football league. He'll then label people who are pointing this out as 'whingers' or some other rubbish. Going to use the block on him again.

Yes but it's unreasonable to expect people to walk the length of the Railway Paddock to give away fans some abuse.

I did put the caveat it was still an outstanding achievement. All I'm saying probably not eloquently is that on paper ( which as you say is no guarantee) we have had an easy path. I feel it's masked our league standing and had we gone out at Mansfield we may of now had a new incumbent? Pure speculation and irrelevant as we won with a fantastic display.

Correct - and the route to the QF was only an easy one, in hindsight. We could, at any time in the past, have lost any of those games?

I question which of us has been ignored my most people? You are arrogant, aggressive and abusive to most of the posters to whom you reply, yet consider yourself to be a sweet, innocent little lamb! Baaa

Also - as I expected, and dreaded, you are prolonging this for much longer than necessary, and more than other people need to read. If you want to continue this "discussion" please feel free to PM me?

You know, people might take you slightly more seriously if you weren't on some weird one man mission to constantly defend the club. You're coming across as a bit mental.

I ought to have mentioned in my reply to this that most of my posts are NOT in defence of the club, but are rebuttals to other posters' lies, fake news, idiotic comments, poor interpretation of statistics and just plain badly-thought out posts...just as some of yours are mr h!

And how are you defining "I question which of us been ignored my (I think you might mean by??)

Virtually every post you have made over the past week or so, needed a swear filter because of the way you are going at people.

You are the one prolonging it out by responding.🤷‍♂️
