1876 memberships have been advertised with the following incentive:

They've sold 1876 memberships on the basis they give priority after season ticket holders for all high profile matches, only for the club to reach a quarter final and 1876 members receive zero priority. It seems mates of season ticket holders are at the front of the queue instead.

Will the club be issuing refunds for every 1876 membership they've mis-sold since the advertised memberships clearly aren't being honoured?

Is it £15 per person or £25 per person?

Also, according to that, you would get £4 off the ticket price for the Middlesbrough game

It states that cup competitions are excluded from the £4 discount off ticket prices which is fine, but clearly 1876 members should have priority over friends of season ticket holders, since we've paid £15 for the privilege of priority access. For me, that advertised benefit was the only reason I took out the membership.

Sorry, genuine question,  have the club said that it will go straight from ST's to general sale?  Long time until the game, should be time to include a time frame for members surely?  The trouble is that our severely restricted capacity will cause us problems now.  I suspect whatever the club puts in place, some fans will be unhappy and complaining.   In fact, thinking about it,   was it ever any different when the odd big game comes along?     Also, not sure how, if a ST holder buys an extra seat, how they will be sitting together?   If it's allocated seating,  I would say get there early, it could get messy!

At a guess, if every season ticket holder brought just 1 extra ticket on top of their own, then Vales capacity would sell out before it reached membership sales or general public sales

According to the club's ticket update on Thursday, the priority is:

  • 14th November – Season Ticket Holders (Who can purchase additional for friends and family)
  • 21st November – General Sale (With Season Tickets reserved)
  • 5th December – Season Tickets Released to General Sale

This is hardly a case of "whatever the club puts in place, some fans will be unhappy."

This is a membership scheme being advertised as offering priority access to tickets for all in-demand fixtures. The club have taken people's money on that basis then announced ticket sales arrangements for the quarter final with 1876 members getting no priority at all.

In that scenario you are right. But to counter that our 3 ST's will probably take 2 seats for this game as opposed to 6.  Will start to see next week I suppose

Aar, right. As I said, it was a genuine question,  which you have answered. Also, as I  said,  there is enough time for a members period.  Strange. I was a member last season so I can see why you are annoyed.  I wasn't criticising,   I guess as the saying goes, you can't please all the people all the time.  I suppose some ST holders might say they want their partner there to witness a potentially historic moment with them, if it was 1 ticket per ST.  Bottom line is the ridiculous capacity restrictions have come to bite us, with 20000ish seats, there shouldn't really be any problems at all.

Doubt if there are 15,000 seats

I hadn't seen the Thursday ticket update showing the breakdown of when tickets will be going on sale. I'm a member so this effects me, so I'm not having this, will be contacting the club directly. Absolute joke if this isn't corrected.

Reading that caveat on the 1876 advert, I think the club are going to try to say that also refers to the priority access benefit between ST holders and general sale. Might be wrong, but that's my prediction. It's quite clearly only referring to the £4 off, as you rightly say, but just a hunch.

It's a huge error by the club. If members end up being lumped in with general sale and we get a repeat (or worse given the release schedule implies ST holders can buy multiple "additional tickets for friends and family") of the Man City situation, then we could see members not being able to get tickets for this game. Whilst non ST holders / non members get priority over us. It's an absolute farce that needs resolving straight away.

People may think this is a non issue, but if the capacity is massively reduced to 8 or 9k for home fans as it currently is, then it becomes a very real issue if 5k ST holders plus their friends and family get first dibs. Even if that doesn't come to fruition, it's wrong purely on principle. I've paid for a product that affords me certain benefits that I'm potentially now being denied.

Won't be happy if they don't include the 1876 before they go on general sale that's the whole reason myself & many others went for the membership to get priority tickets 🤦🏼‍♂️ sort it out Vale it's a joke that joe bloggs who has never been a game in his life, supports Stoke & lives in Ireland can get a ticket because his long lost cousin is a st holder before people who have signed upto the membership scheme 🙄
