I see Balmer has gone to the Wombles. About the right level I think!

Yet - from some of the comments on here and from that budget,  it seems everyone on here wants us to sign Mesi and beat every team in the league 3-0 each week.

Even if we had Messi we would draw 3-3 every game... look at our defence 🤣👍

Says it all really. No one at this level would want him apart from us

Phillips was the lad who did well at Morcambe scoring 7 in 20 in league 1in the same team as Weir (I think)

hasn’t played at Shrews because of injury, not sure where he is on his recovery but was someone I would have liked us to look at at the start of the year.

Talking of Southampton, they've recalled Thierry Small from his loan at St Mirren as he'd only made 6 appearances since August. Doesn't seem to have a particularly auspicious career ahead of him.

No it isn’t. It is a criminal offence so life ban is the least he should get.

Let's hope he doesn't as he's a life long supporter. Let's also hope the enquiry will delve deep enough as to why he is so peeved with being a Valiant atm and the enquiry will end positively with him being awarded substantial compensation for mental anguish and distress.Which he will then donate to Vale to go towards buying a forward and LWB by means of his apology to the club [emoji106]

So you not interested in Vale being competitive and you would take going down.

You defo shouldn't say it why would a club take that (excuse the pun).

We do everything we can to win games in League 1 not go back to league 2 with 30 away fans .

If go down how does  that sell anything ?

It doesn't seen it all before going down causes all kind of bad knock on effects .

We get players out in my opinion who are not moving the club forwards and bring in players who can  who can do there job and do it miles better there's players who go work as a electrician in the day and play for non league who have more desire get the ball in the back of the oppositions net  than our defenders from corners

It's proven that our academy players on the day are good enough to step up into this league ,we cannot be relying on them though completely moving forwards .

Let's not want go down though let's build slowly but have the right personnel to do so .

So I'm going agree to disagree on this post .

We must do everything to stay in this league

Are you the guy that was throwing his season ticket and not going again this season 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

You know what, and I shouldnt really say this, but:

If we havent got the money and we cannot compete realistically in league one, I personally would prefer for us to be on a sound financial footing and be perennial league two playoff contenders - more exciting than the constant worry of relegation hanging over us since we came up.

Not interested in AFC Hollywood type scenarios - just plain old vale playing some attractive-ish attacking football, on the cusp of league two success

I agree BUT if we can’t compete financially at this level why do the club not say it? It’s because it’s not true.

We have had a middle of the road budget for this league but there is a huge disparity between us and the top 6 in budget. I’m more than OK with that.

What we have is a wasted budget, a DOF who is full of <ovf censored>.

This thread is getting very Talking Heads to me….according to some, we’re on the Road to Nowhere and they are telling everyone to Stop Making Sense, while for others we are Burning Down the House…..

Personally I think we should sign a Psycho Killer in this transfer window, and achieve a Once in a Lifetime ambition to get promoted…..

right now though, it’s more like Life During Wartime and we’re all being Cross Eyed and Painless……I’ll get my oversized suit on the way out…….
