January Transfers and Rumours

Carol is keeping her side of the mission and doing it well. Pitch, infrastructure, match day experience, pushing the buisness model throughout the club to be self sufficient, supporting the acadamy, working on the community aspect etc etc.
However she had obviously put her trust in others for the football and on the pitch side of things with DF and AC. They are not performing to their side of the deal as they should be atm. They are kind of fumbling thru it but obviously not in the way intended
How long does this be allowed to go on for, only Carol and Kevin will know. Get some results and it gets pushed away again, but have a bad February and who knows what will happen and it will involve some very tough decisions they will have to make imo.
Saturday is a crucial game, we simply can't lose or draw to bottom of the table. We just can't. Let's have 30 attempts on goal, direct, in yer face Vale and smash them and not meek, 2 attempts on goal, desperately attempting to play for a draw, and inevitably losing by 1 goal Vale on Saturday.
It has to be in yer face. Show an intent and stop bloody over thinking everything Vale.

I know how to read.

Things like the fan zone can't be taking precedence over players because they're from different budgets! If "pointless" things bring in extra money for the club, then they're not pointless - are they? And we're not losing every week - yes, we lost on Saturday...after 16 mins of football in 3 weeks and playing the top side who, maybe, were in poor form, but they're still top for a reason...and us having lost 2 of our best players! And we lost to a penalty that never was, 6 minutes from time.

3 wins in 19.

Can't see much changing today and no doubt we will again have another window that the side gets worse rather than better.  The clubs around us have improved theirs.

  • Hope/Heart - we will be okay and just scrape a Lg 1 place. Then the hard task of rebuilding a team - hopefully with better strikers, midfield and defence.  At least we have 2 cracking goal keepers.
  • Worse feeling - we will actually finish bottom of the league as yet again another Jan window we have got worse, while the clubs below and around us have improved their squads.  Well apart from Reading.  But they will beat us and we will be in the bottom 4.

Saturday - you hope the side actually turn up and win.  Again - sorry we will roll over and they will score with ease and not even get out of first gear.  We will have most of the possession in our half.  Their goal area will show we had a few tame shots and we will loose 2 nil.  AC will say we will learn from this and it was a really good loss, as the players played the possession - passing game better.

You make some good points, I mean yes his UNICEF work and the “Giveitsum” charity have undoubtedly made big contributions to peoples lives, the latter a massive difference to the local area.  I don’t certainly feel Robbie is a bad guy, but certainly for a guy who is lauded as a big fan, he has not given as much as I’m sure many fans on here would in his situation.

I was at Aspos testimonial many years ago but it did become a bit too much about him at the time in my view. Although yes, him being there upped the gate and money, but the club gave him a lifelong dream to play on the pitch, so it was a bit of give and take.

I also don’t doubt his commercial pull, although it isn’t what it was in his 2000s pomp.

Overall yes possibly outspoken on my part, but certainly I think he should have done more before being bestowed a presidency. Only time will tell if the club get more money, but track record wise? Doubt it.

But that is the burden that he's got to live with & try to balance is if he puts £1 million into the club, some fans on social media will say why's it not £2 million.

Anything he does for Vale, he will alway's be questioned with why are you not doing more

We either don't have enough money to compete in this league

Or we have enough and haven't performed well with our signings

Or we are doing fine. Competitive in this league and our signings are working?

I personally feel we do have money to be competitive - not top 7 but midtable. I also think we have some good players and I agree with the way the club are investing in the long term and the facilities. But I also feel we are underperforming on the pitch. What do you think?

First bit is right.

We don’t have any money. It’s as simple as that. We have a bottom 4 budget  despite what people are saying. Our highest paid player is probably on the least out of all the league in terms of a clubs top earner.

But that's through rose tinted glasses 🙄

Its also not what she said, its his interpretation, as is his assertion that "they don't care".  All of which are stupid statements when you think a) they won the business b) they've invested £10m+ of their own money, etc.

But lets not let the facts get in the way of us slagging the club off continually.

It would be a completely level for Robbie with how rich & famous he is.

Agreed, Brian.

Carols net worth is reported to be £10-15m; she and Kevin have already put in £10m of their own hard-earned.  Robbie is reported to be worth $230-250m.  Comparing the two is just daft.

Yet - from some of the comments on here and from that budget,  it seems everyone on here wants us to sign Mesi and beat every team in the league 3-0 each week.
