What an insane take. The guy is 29 almost, not 19. He's not suddenly going to improve his shooting after all these years. He is and will always be rubbish in front of goal. His career proves that.

What “impression” does selling a proven league 1 striker to a rival on the very same points in January when we are not safe in the division give you?

We're in a bit of a mess with strikers.

Everything is so short term and we barely keep a striker beyond 6-12 months (apart from Wilson who is always injured).

Would be good to get a couple of forwards on a 2-3 year deal and try and develop our own.

Even if he he doesn't, put him with wilson and Garrity and your gonna get goals.

Not saying he doesn't have some worth in the side. But scoring himself isn't and will never be one of them. He's a 1 in 5 guy.

I guess it all comes down to whether he's got a get-out clause in his contract or not. 

If he hasn't got a get-out clause I would hope Vale either hold him till the end of his contract and only let him go in January if an offer is too good to turn down.
