Only watched the second half due to other commitments. Women should be proud of their achievements and the fact that they are disappointed to be runners up says it all.

Lost to the better team but the Spaniards had the ref in their pocket. Ref bottled it when she should definitely have sent one of their players off.

Overall I enjoyed the games that I saw and there's much less time wasting and gamesmanship in the competition IMO.

I hope the game continues to grow and it's definitely lifted the profile of the sport since the Euros.

I thought England had a lot more decisions go their way, overall the ref was very poor, a lot of decisions wrong including initially missing the penalty to Spain which was an obvious penalty. Would have been harsh to send the Spanish player off for kicking the ball away, especially as I don’t think the first challenge warranted a yellow card.
Spain were the deserved winners, I felt throughout the tournament England look solid in defence and pretty good once the attackers get the ball but the midfield is very poor, don’t know if it’s the system they play but Toon and Stanway have been very poor throughout the tournament.

England did well reach the final really. No other team would have been able cope without 3 decent players due to injury. Williamson captain, Fran Kirby decent creative player, Beth mead topscorer in the euros may have even been player of the tournament. Also add in Jill Scott and the striker white retired after the euros last year aswell so like losing 5 players really.

I agree with your first sentence but to get to any final, let alone a World final, is worthy of praise.  Shame we didn’t perform, but fair play to the Spaniards who were worthy winners.

It is, but the men certainly didn’t receive praise for reaching the final. Good achievement for the ladies, I thought they were quite poor in most games to be honest but opposite to the men, consistently found a way to win other than today, still did well but I guarantee if the men played like that in a final the abuse certain players would receive would be horrific and nobody would be saying how proud they are

Think he meant Euros v Italy where Southgate was hung drawn and quartered by the media.

Although he's a good fella and nobody deserved the flack he got, he did play a massive part in losing England that game at Wembley when it was there for us to win. His tactics were extremely negative. I don't think Wiegman did too much wrong today. Just got beat by a great side that played a bit better on the day and at  a neutral venue.

First full game of ladies  football I've ever watched and really enjoyed it apart from the result.

Heartbreak for the English but the Spanish were a tad better on offense. Apart from a bit of play acting at the end by the Spanish, the men should be made to watch that game over and over to show them the spirit in which football should be played.

Lip reading the comments of the English goalkeeper after her penalty save were priceless.

Media love comparing against the blokes.

My comparison is as per the men, it all fell in their laps as all the big teams exited early. Just like the men they went into their shells when it mattered.
