I’m surprised to be honest with how gung ho BM and BS have been that we have gone back to Mo. I’m guessing they want control rather than someone like Rehan, but it’s a smack in the face to the county spinners. Batting is incredibly strong now other than Crawley

I was thinking - although it's a bit leftfield - that if Crawley continues to fail is it worth pushing Moeen up to open? I know he has also failed there in the past but surely he'd still be an improvement on Zak's contributions. Also, by doing that you free up a space for another pace man which may be useful if Stokes can't bowl.

I guess, for now, Crawley remains but it may be something to consider if his run of low scores continues.

Probably is worth it given Crawley won’t last 10 minutes against their bowling attack. May need to do something as like you say Stokes may not bowl, didn’t look great in the field against Ireland

England 240-5 at tea. Probably in the balance but the scoring rate of England has again been exceptional. in the past they’d be 5 down but only about 130 on the board so this is definitely the way to go.

Guess that answers the question of could they do it against the Aussie attack.

Feel we have given wickets away and been unlucky with Brook. Feel like they have been on the ropes and picked up wickets just as we’re pulling away

Need a big partnership now, been fun to watch though

Root bringing out the reverse hit for six in the first over after tea seems a statement of intent.

Suppose if you play this way there’ll always be a couple of dismissals that don’t look great or that freak one of Brook. Just got to take the rough with the smooth on that. If one of these can get a ton then that would be huge.

I'm there tomorrow, hoping we can only be 7 down so i can see our tail have a good slog !!

Enjoy it, nothing like the Edgbaston test for me  especially if in the Hollies Stand.

Notice they’ve started to get stuck into Lyon in the last hour with the “you’re just a <ovf censored> Moeen Ali” song 😂
