Just got back from holiday so not sure if this has been posted before but griffs mrs works at my lads school and has given her notice. Could be she has a better job or if something else eg she is moving away with him?

Shes moved from her job in Kidsgrove to Vodafone in Etruria!

Griff has been one of my favorite players for the past few season, it will be sad to see him go if he is.

I personally think it will be a bad move for him to go to a higher league, and I can't see it been a positive step, but will wish him well anyway!

Griff has been made an offer and so I guess he has a week or two to decide to stay or go. Money matters, but of the clubs above mentioned only Preston is a step up with the support base and facilities to go higher. Walsall will be fighting to survive in League 1 again next year, and just think of the fumes inhaled during 23 home league games there. Rotherham play in a ground built for athletics and horrible to play and watch football in. They may be capable of commuting between League 1 and 2, but no more.

Griff is also my favourite player and I'll miss him if he goes.

Personally, I think if he did go it might be best for both parties.

He's had a decent season and might therefore get himself a solid contract for a decent length of time. If he does, fair play to the lad.

Equally, part of our midfield problem has been having one man who rarely scores, rarely goes forward and is limited in the ability to play and pick a pass. IMHO, Loft should be our midfield engine, preferably partnered with someone a little more cultured on the ball. Griff going would potentially create a space in the squad for that to happen.

Why would teaching assistant move to voda? Nothing against voda like but it seems strange. As I said in the original post it could be nothing ( but I know how the gossip mill like a bit of a start so posted what I know)

Because Teaching Assistant's pay is rubbish and often the contracts are for part time hours and / or term time only. Vodafone may offer more hours and all year round pay.

I'll be gutted to see him go, I still haven't got over McPhee going...such an underrated talent. opposition fans always mention him as our stand out player, he bosses games and is so composed on the ball.
