I was one of the unfortunates to be left in the cold outside.

 

What could have been a complete PR disaster was turned into a relative success, At last somebody, somewhere listened, got access into the ground and arranged for KR to come down and speak to the "frozen few" Progress? I think so mainly down to the Supporters Club and Bob Young.

 

As for KR well, like most I was quite impressed. Articulate, intelligent, a dry sense of humour, confidant and unassuming. I liked the way that when he did answer your question he looked you in the eye and maintained eye contact.

Said tonight he was at the shrewsbury game enjoyed the atmosphere of 7600 fans

His plan is to get this many at VP but to do this I think we have to see a sizable cut to match day prices or better quality on the pitch

The only thing that concerns me now is when Micky is going to be able to bring the new players in, and introduced to Micky's pre-season Bootcamp, as the end of July, as predicted, is way too late for new players to bond and become a team in time for the start of the season.

Bury were still putting a side together just days before the season kicked off and they went up. We got Tudor etc in early and look how bad that turned out

I havent felt this much hope in a long time... I really think Keith Ryder will turn out to be the bloke that saved our football club.. Really positive answers and it sounds as if hes done his research and met with the people that needed meeting with..

All the fans want is a well ran club with a decent side fighting for promotion from this league. Well his plans to take the club forward off the pitch were excellent and has already started to put his team together. He also stated that the playing budget would be increased from what it is this season... that was enough for me.. I also think Bob Young was very lervel headed and seemed to actually be thinking about the football club when deciding his prefered bidder. i was pleased when somebody shouted up that we should show our appreciatian towards the administrators...

My only concern is that fans will expect immediate success... and if it isnt delivered then certain fans will start another hate campaign..

All in all though very pleased and came away a proud Vale fan...

 

None of the recent campaigns were hate campaign's or because we didn't get promotion. They were campaigns for change from an inept board who said one thing but did another which, by their nature, just happened to cause on the pitch failure. I don't see that the sort of protests we have witnessed will be needed going forward as people like Mr Ryder will cut their losses and move on instead of hanging on like a limpet!

Im not too worried about bringing in players late weve been off to a flyer before at the start of a season and ended up mid table , Reading fans seem to have forgotten about their poor start , just hope our fans can be patient! One can only hope ...

Couldn't make it last night but from what i'm reading in response to last nights meeting i'm proper looking forward to next season and the off season to see the comings and goings whereas not so long ago i was dreading the thought.

 

Well done to Keith Ryder for being open and honest, something we've all lacked in recent times,

and as already stated by another poster, Keith Ryder could just be the man that saves our club.

 

Now for a decent strip so i can spend some ackers.:)

When you add quality players to a team the effect is instant look when Madjo, myrie-williams and more recently Marshall and Shuker had on the team when they came so if and when Micky gets quality in instead of kids and loan players we will be flying next season

 

I would expect Micky has his players in mind from when Miller told him to draw up his short list for Jan that went t**ts up

Wy take on last night was that never have i heard a man talk so much but say so little & no thats not a criticism either. Mr Ryder said nothing that unduly alarmed me but at same time nothing that suddenly heightened my expectation.

 

However i was very pleased to hear that he has as low opinion of MOLD as the rest of us, that he has increased the playing budget & that he is doing ground work behind the scenes.

 

I got the impression that there is more substance to his plan but due to the fact he is not officially in place is limited in what he can say.

He had a good sense of humour, and as i said to his face im sceptical in terms of ST purchase, due to having no desire to pay more to watch these same set of players. So i will hold fire & see how Adams develops the squad & who he retains.

 

I left last night not feeling id learnt a great deal more than we either already knew/expected but at same time not feeling unduly worried by anything that was said.

For years now we have had things said that have not been delivered, this frustrated then angered many in the end..............from the completion of the Lorne Street to the amazing 8 million investment.....all promises that clearly could not be delivered.

 

KR is tackling this 100% spot on in my opinion, only state things that can be delivered or say nothing at all, now im sure he has loads of plans and ideas, however he still has not got the club or a management team in place.

Well answered questions, no silly ott promises, no sign of a big boardroom happening with Keith being the one making all the major decisions which IMO is good. All talk up to now of course but it all looks very promising
