sounds like mr ryder knows how to run a buisness correctly which can only be good for port vale, micky adams will be over the moon to hear the playing budget will be increased, sounds like it will be a work in progress and in time we will see improvements, we have got to back the man now and buy season tickets or come as much as you can, did pay on the day prices get mentioned?

Went last night and I have to agree that although alot was said there wasn't many answers. And gain I agree that this is probably due to the fact that the does not as yet hold the keys to VP. Very cautious in his answers as can only be expected but said some of the right things at the right time.

Although nervous he did play the crowd at times.

He did not answer but skirted around the following.

What is your background - gave a very vague answer he is a consultant, What of?

When asked what motivated him to buy Vale he gave a few reasons as to what did not drive him to do it, bit did not respond with what did motivate him into it.

I suspect he see's PVFC as a Business (which IMO is good) and wants a return, my question if we had of had a little longer would have been.

Given a businessman expects a return on Investment, what time scale do you have on this and if not achieved what is your plan to turn it around.

Also.

Given we have not actually got an owner at present would it be prudent to prolong the early bird offer on ST until such time as the CVA is agreed?

:rolleyes:Looks like the Sentinel are struggling to identify the till now anonomous potential new Vale owner - Mondays early edition stokienal back page showed a picture of a bloke with glasses and a goaty beard in black crombie type coat and the photographer called Alex severn labled him Keith Ryder at the Morcombe game.

The latest pics after last nights meet the fans show a clean shaven bloke with different facial features and no goaty beard. Very strange - perhaps there is twins taking over at Vale Park or is it just the usual incompetent stokienal getting it wrong as usual.:shifty:

I guess he just had a shave?

He came across very well. He didn't reveal anything particularly earth shattering but he is still only the preferred bidder so a lot of the answers were very general. But he'd obviously done his homework on the club. Couple of things that did come out were that he provisionally plans an open day kind of event in July to unveil the Sproson statue and that legal proceedings were ongoing against the former directors.

Not read this anywhere else - anyone else know anything about this?

Disagree we have to many average quality players currently.

If it wasn't for the 10 point deduction we would only have been 4 points off the play-offs, still a decent effort considering the off-field distractions, players not getting paid on time etc.

This suggests we need to bring in only 3 or 4 quality players to push on and go for promotion next season, not wholesale changes. Quality not quantity is the key. Rico, Loft and Griff are our key players imo, these players must be kept first and foremost, along with offering longer contracts to both Shuker and Marshall.

We would be 17 points of automatic promotion still if you add the 10 points back in. Griff can go for me but I agree with you on Loft and Rico.

I suppose its all a matter of opinions isn't is

We would only miss Griffith somewhat simply because he's the only genuine-ball winner in the side.

Doug Loft (although he can be a little bit inconsistent) can play and do a good job in a few positions, making him an important member of the squad, while Richards will always guarantee you 20 odd goals even in a side that struggles to create sometimes.

maybe a quality signing like kevin phillips would get people sitting up and taking notice , a player of that calibre (having one last swan song) would be someone we could build our promotion campaign around . an experienced head in the dressing room commanding respect would also work wonders for the rest of the team . add to that three other quality signings and hey presto PROMOTION.

WE CAN DREAM. remember BERNIE BERNIE SLAVEN ,BERNIE BERNIE SLAVEN .

I said something very similar on the way out last night, although in my case it was purely to stimulate ticket sales.

The only thing to stimulate even more sales would be a ritual flogging of ex directors at half time.

Although I have nothing but admiration for Griffs attitude and application, It says a lot about the current squad that he regularly wins man of the match.
