Where's the Hugill Money? Where's the Beef Baby?

What would we do about the shortfall if West Ham didn't panic buy Hugill on deadline day in January?

Would Norm have to sink more money in, increasing his director's loan and decreasing the chance a potential investor can ever afford to buy us?

Would the playing budget have been substantially lower this year, probably leading to a squad much worse than the likely mid-table one we have now?

I know I'm always digging at Norm but a small, naive part of me thought the Hugill windfall could have really put us on solid footing. Instead, it seems we're got an about standard squad for our level, with no off-the-field improvements (stadium is still a dump) to compensate.

Most clubs at our level would kill for £1.9 guaranteed additional income (on top of STs and sponsorships) over 18 months; it feels like we've pissed it up the wall.

With respect, this topic has been discussed extensively elsewhere on OVF.

And when it does you ask people to stay on topic! I've created this thread specifically in response to your urges for the FGR thread to remain on topic.

These are fundamental questions Barry, pertaining to the future of our football club. I'd expect them to be discussed extensively on OVF. What else are we meant to discuss?

I honestly don't know if part of a mods responsibilities is deciding how much a subject is allowed to be discussed before they get bored of it. If people want to join in, then let them. If they want to ignore me or call me a miserable **** (as most wisely do), thats their prerogative.

Can anyone give me any suggestions as to where the £600k we receive every 6 months is going?

If the only credible answer is "to cover the shortfall Norm created with daft decisions" then we might as well pack it up.

I'm very confused by this post, to the best of my knowledge port vale have been losing money year on year for nearly 20 years,so I take what your saying all of a sudden Norman's a really good owner and turned our club into a profit making concern great news

By all means start a topic theme as shown, but we have had several same theme threads in recent times all ending in a carousel result i.e. round and round and still we don't know and even when the Financials become available we may still be none the wiser.

Wherever it has gone. It has not gone on anything we see at 3pm most Saturdays. I still see an unfinished Lorne Street and a Bycars that is exactly the same as the early 90s.

I don’t get Norman’s ideas at all. He did bankroll a solid league 1 team with a lot of good players in a squad that could have been a championship team had he kept up the investment.

Shut it down then Barry, I really cannot be bothered going into the principles of a forum.

I'll hotfoot it over to the (2nd) Brexit thread, certainly not a carousel result over there. Just the 330 pages.

I am sorry. We had a few players who could have played at Championship level. But overall our team would not have ever won League 1 never mind stay in the Championship.

The only person who can answer the question is the owner. A summary of the itemised cash flows through the various components of the club is unlikely to be divulged, as with most businesses. An overview as required by company law etc may give a clue but I am not holding my breath.
