See the proposal is to include a new Police control box. Is that to replace the old one by the Railway stand? Then that old one could be demolished I suppose to make way for Norm's Pub?

Maybe the old Police box could be converted to the new pub which would save money on building a new structure and all the issues around drilling for mining shafts etc.

Depends on what alterations are made to it. Extra entrances and exits would be needed for sure, plus some means of making sure the pitch isn't visible from there to suit the regulations. Add to that the services (gas, water etc) that would have to be altered/improved and it wouldn't be cheap. Then again, what would it cost to knock down and rebuild?

I thought the location of the current control room is ideal because there are a few cells in the bottom floor and you can back a Police van right up to the Paddock gates to take people away.

 

Won't the newish floodlight pylon have to be moved in order to accommodate these new flats? How are they solving that?

Thought I read somewhere that they had taken into consideration the possibility of the flats when they put up the new floodlights in that corner, could be wrong though with my memory.
