And a quick bit of working out in my head suggests that could mean his goals per game in the league is a little bit nearer to Tom’s.I’m sure you’ll correct me.The point I have been trying to make ,which seems to have bypassed you ,is the continual abuse some players get while others get none is ridiculous.In fact,at the game yesterday,it was nothing short of obscene racism.That was to our own player.It seems anyone who isn’t ‘one of our own’ is fair game.

Tyrone’s goals per game when you only consider league games drops from 0.23 to 0.22... so even further from the Pontiff.

 

I totally agree that the abuse of our own players is wrong. I actually like Barnett and think he brings something to the team... I just wish he would be a bit more mobile and hungry.

 

All this started when you started bagging out Poppy for missing two sitters ... then you said there was no point comparing him and Barnett because one was “a rough ar5e the other is a better technical footballer”... so it seems it’s you who thinks one of our own is fair game!

That is correct and if every Vale fan did what I started to do two seasons ago Smurthwaite would have gone by now. I still all the away games though when I am in the country.

Its quite often said that a player is judged on what he does in a vale shirt....pope v barnet no contest..wonder if any strikers to be released end of season which ones out of pope , barnet and turner would it be...

As for barnet being great in the air his header from the halfway line on Monday managed to go back 30/40 yrds towards our defenders...not slagging him but he does need to do more

Barnett had something at one point but for whatever reason hasn’t kept it up. I felt he was the wrong sub and Forrester would have held the ball up better once Pope departed and we likely wouldn’t have been over run late on.

 

In terms of the topic Hannant is getting better each game and should progress and be a very decent player next season for us. Had energy and some talent, hopefully he is a sign of what’s to come from Aspo and Rudge once the dead wood is gone in the summer and they have a budget to spend.
