please be aware people . ruth smeeth voted to block no deal last night. i refuse to vote labour anymore until all these cronies are voted out including her. she is another deluded politician who needs a swift trip to the local job centre. very angry this morning. seems like if you want brexit now its either boris or nigel.

Correct. The stoke seats are prime brexit party targets hopefully. All we need then is enough people to realise that labour hmare actively working against them rather than supporting them.

Incidentally, can any remainer on here justify how on earth labour/lib dems and SNP dare to duck an election?

And Labour will rightly counter that by pointing out that whilst they ensured that we wouldn't leave with a no-deal that would disproportionately harm communities su h as S-o-T's, we will offer a subsequent deal to both leavers and remainers to vote on. They can also point out that they will be offering up a massive 500 billion pounds to fund jobs and improve services in places like Stoke. They'll also be able to point and laugh at Johnson struggling through parliament with a majority cut to about MINUS 40!

We're well up for an election. Just need to make sure that no-deal is legally impossible then we'll vote one through.

Labour can't offer no deal.

They can't offer Mays deal because they rejected it.

They can't offer a new deal because they can't get one.

If you can't leave without a deal and you have refused the only deal on the table you can't leave..... stalemate.

The only thing I can see Labour can offer is a 2nd referendum..... with the same question as before...... whoever wins the turmoil continues...... if leave should win we can't leave because of the above and the infighting will continue to another stalemate with the country still split.

Keep in mind we are simply talking about the withdrawal agreement..... nothing more.

Would you like to make a bet that Labour won't get a 40 seat majority

I don't think we will get a 40 seat majority, so I wouldn't take that bet, no. Having said that, if stuff like this keeps happening...

...I wouldn't bet against it.

Will make a fantastic poster across the billboards of the country. Old Etonian  toff taking keen interest in parliamentary vote against the government, leader of the house in fact. The banner headline would be something like "Banker not working". It would be a pity if vandalised to something  else.
