Reason for Gannon's Sacking........

As the club has not given any reason, or issued a by 'mutual consent' statement we can only assume they are expecting some form of legal battle with Gannon.

If that is the case, then for once they are right in keeping quiet as not to jeopardise any future tribunal hearing.

I hope the club have kept a proper file, and gone through all the proper procedures - the last thing Vale needs is another hefty payout.

Having said that, we can all see the reasons behind the decision - poor form, bringing the club into disrepute (busgate), attitude to players and staff - need I go on. All in all he was a complete idiot, not least to himself.

If you want to make radical changes when starting a new job (which in this case was not necessary anyway, on the playing side at least) you need to make friends and allies - not upset everyone you come in to contact with.

Aside from the insults that are being thrown around, am I the the only one who thinks he may have a form of autism?

No you are not the only person to form an opinion bordering on mental issues he seems to display, if true then the ridicule is not warranted imo, but then again I wouldn't him to necessarily run MY football club whatever his issues he may or may not have

If we'd got Gannon straight after Glover then that might have been the right time to get him. That's a MIGHT.

A thoughtful manager would have looked at the clubs position (top 3) and thought "Right all we need is a bit of tweaking and perhaps a couple of players to strengthen and I'll get promotion in 5 months."

Gannon clearly isn't of this ilk and decided to change the world in a week when he should have waited until the close season.

He was a bully and had an untouchable mentality. I wouldn't have been surprised if he sent bouncers round the players houses to threaten them.

Im very glad they did that - it could be seen as underhand, but it may have stopped some going out and drinking away their sorrows and suffering lack of fitness for tonight. It made no difference to Gannon, so well done to whoever did that ringing round.
