I'm sorry people, stop discussing the issues in the NHS, education, foreign policy. We need to let the politicians decide.

 

Bea Smith says we should leave the people that are 'paid and are capable' of doing their job, so we should shut up and let politicians get on with things.

 

We don't know better than Aspin in terms of football, but we've all seen Pope's inept performances all season and he's seen him for 2 days of training. No one's criticising Aspo for starting him as his 11 picked on Saturday was always going to be tough. Some of us just want a different forward line.

 

Why in the world would you discuss anything, in your view? :laugh:

For all those saying Pope shouldn't start,what at the moment is the alternative ? Barnett for me isn't the answer,his work rate in no way matches Popes,his injury record is not very good,Anton Forrester is never going to put a decent run of games together,Pyke is not ready, Turner will never win the headers or put in the defensive part of the game needed,so until we can find a suitable alternative,would someone tell me who should start instead of him ?

Play the ball on the ground, into feet and down the channels. No need to be able to 'win headers'

 

Front three of Turner, Harness and Whitfield would do far more damage than we're currently seeing.

Of course there is a need to be able to 'win headers' and its not just about winning headers its about having players that are strong enough to hold it up and bring others in to play as well. We won't be able t oplay carpet football all game and will have to mix it up, and you can't afford to have the ball coming back every time its cleared because the striker isn't able to play with his back to goal or win his challenges. Turner isn't that kind of striker, he isn't going to stick his head and body on the line with every ball in and around him, thats not his game at all. We should be able to mix up our game and having a Pope type player with nippy players around him should give us that.
