Matchday Thread: Port Vale v Cheltenham Town

I don't think there's any way he'll be dropping Roos tomorrow despite what we may think of him.

To be honest I don't think there's a lot between Hornby & Roos anyway. They're both about as good/bad as each other, have both made a few mistakes & been alright at times. Just wish we had better than the two of them, but as we don't, better to give one a run in the side, to keep some sort of consistency.

Still, out of the 9 goals in the league we scored, he's assisted 2, so it's not like he's done nothing. RE Pyke, would prefer to leave him out for now, & maybe give him a run out in the Crewe game next month, unless Aspin has other ideas & feels he's proving his worth in training.

Worral says his favorite position is right wing so it would be interesting to see what he can do out on the wing.if were going off stats then Dan Turner must be the first name on the team sheet with his prolific 3 league goals:laugh:

I'd definitely start Worrall anyway, centre or wing, think Pugh is a complete waste of a position & adds nothing. Him/Tonge is a terrible central pairing.

As for Turner, don't see any reason why he shouldn't start. I'd prefer him on with Pope or Barnett though, whichever the partner is going off to make way for the other either at half time or around the hour mark to freshen the side up.

Remember Adams when he took over, never mind a gentle jog round Westport lake all the squad up Hanley Forest Park,i think this lot of nomarks need a couple of circuits of HFP,to sort out the wheat from the mountain of chaff, make the buggers sweat a little.

We have to win this, if we don't then surely the pressure is on Aspin.

Always thought Askey was the best option, time will tell.

This has to be the most ridiculous post of the year. So losing a game after being here for two days and having nearly zero chance to impact the team has made you doubt aspin? Bonkers. As though askey would have turned out terrible squad into promotion candidates after two days. Aspin s challenge is to keep us in touch with safety until Jan. And that will be hard enough with our current squad.

Not quite as much enthusiasm and chest thumping as last week...99% instead of 100%...but still excited about watching this afternoon, with a little more trepidation! Hopefully after a week Aspo might be clearer in his mind about players/formations/tactics etc I really believe he will get it right in the end but it may be a case of a couple of steps backwards first....so we have to be patient. If anything I'm glad we are as bad as we are NOW not in March onwards. If he keeps us safe this season he will have earned his corn and then he can build....so strap in and buckle up because it's all part of being a Vale fan! And no I'm not a"happy clapper" just a Vale fan through thick and thin! (And Holy Moley there has been some thin of late!)

I hope he doesn't pick Tonge and Pugh because I saw last week where there were no legs in midfield second half so they had to sit back and we suddenly lost everything going forward.....so we lumped it....doesn't work!

COME ON VALE!

Boot is no worse than either of Hornby or Roos.

I’d get rid of Roos and bring Boot in thus getting rid of a loanee from the squad.
