I'm not convinced its Aspin. It's just too bizarre for words after Smurthwaite only invited him to apply a day ago when apparently had his shortlist in place.

It’s been Aspin since Saturday sweetie, the hold up was their chairman in America, and now hopefully his return is orchestrating the appointment of Aspin.

On a side note, Sheriden up to second favourite at 8/1, some money gone his way too.

Sheridan shouldn't even be considered.

Am I in the minority of I see no appeal for aspin? I will back him, he is a club legend, im 29, I did see him play a fair few times, I think I feel that it could fail and his reputation could be thrown out the window, I just don't think perhaps he is the right appointment now, in another scenario yes, just not this one we find the club in.

Don't they have telephones or the internet in the US?

I must admit as well as hundreds of others I have not had the heart to attend this season, however, I believe the appointment of Aspin could tempt me to part with my cash this weekend, I'm sure many others would follow suit, the man is a legend of the 90's & will get a deserved massive welcome & create a great atmosphere, this should (I say with caution) feed through to the players & push us on to the win. If they can't motivate themselves under those circumstances they deserve to never wear our shirt again!

I'm the same I'll be back Saturday if it's aspin

Who do you want mate? Aspin May still not happen mate, it’s certainly not a done deal by any stretch of the imagination. They are playing AFC Fylde tomorrow so any input from Aspin and you’ll get your wish

In my view, if the appointments rubbish, we don't have the time to sit back and see what happens.

Affirmative action needs to happen now. We sat by and didn't attack Smurf at the back end of last season as we were battling relegation; we went down on the last day, and Smurf was spared our anger for 3 months.

We come back, told to back the manager and his staff, all good noises come from the club, and we're told to give him 10 games. Brown is rubbish, he goes. We still haven't made ourselves heard.

Now we're looking at the prospect of another poor appointment. I don't think, if its one we're not happy about, we can afford to sit back and 'see how things go'. We keep putting off action to 'see how things go' (last season, start of this one, this new manager). How long are we going to wait before we decide to show our feeling to Smurf?

If the appointment is Westley or Horton, we need to show our displeasure on Saturday. We can't sit around, twiddling our thumbs to see if, against all our instinctive judgement, things go well. If we keep waiting, we'll end up in non-league with nothing to protest against. Are people willing to give, for example, Westley the magical '10 games'? Who knows what state we'll be in by then.

We should be protesting against the chairman every game regardless of the next managerial appointment in my view.

He could appoint Ancelloti and I still want Smurf out.

Too much water has gone under the bridge now.

Then each to their own.

I have held my hands up when I've been wrong in the past, for instance, I wanted Brown to be given another 5-6 games when we were 4-5 games into the season, and I knew I'd got that one wrong by game 7.

If Smurf appoints Aspin and it fails, I'd find it hard to listen to anyone proclaiming that it's yet another Smurf mistake. There is a risk with all appointments.

It's a mistake to appoint Aspin !
