Since when does being the son of an ex-England international make you a good player ? (Though in this case, he WAS a good player, but a players fathers profession does not have ANY bearing on their ability, only a fool or a hate crimer would think differently.

It's the job of Garlick and co to act in the best interests of the club so offer Streete a contract that matches his current one in the hope he doesn't accept it. If he goes we get a fee. if he says "Alright I'll sign that" and we can't afford it then withdraw it and take the hit. Not nice but they aren't in their positions to be nice.

I expect Remie was contracted till end of June. As he's left now we've saved £25k approx on his wages and he's free to find new club.

 

Think £25k would probably be fee we'd have got from tribunal so expect that's the reasoning.

Reading between the lines, an amicable solution is no more wages and he finds a club who don't have the risk of going to tribunal. Makes him a more attractive signing. Plus he can get fixed up before other out of contract players.

Honestly mate I don't think that's the case. Regardless we would certainly have achieved more for him than the 20k you are suggesting we would save.

Well I do. Why would we? Didn't come through our youth system, wouldn't have received an improved contract offer, hasn't played many first team games etc. No reason for us to get more.
