Tony Fradley ?

Life President is surely a non-executive role so why all this concern?

Because my friend, the club that a lot of us love and care for has been shafted by a wannabe celebrity egotistical chairman, and folk are concerned, you must understand ?

Still can't understand why Cold n Garlick left Rochdale after 11 happy years to work for a ********** like Smurthwaite.

He hasn't exactly been successful under Smurf.

Either he was already useless or not given a chance to organise things under Smurf who seems to be a control freak.

Perhaps Martino or Penny Black can throw some light on what his actual role is.

Notice their posts have dried up since the end of the Fleetwood game.

You will have to wait until they get back home to Leicestershire. As for Garlick I said earlier in the season that I would be amazed if he is with us at the start of next season and I still stand by that.

From Vale news: As part of his role, he will represent the Club at home and away games should current chairman, Norman Smurthwaite, be unable to attend.

This insinuates that Smurf willbe staying at the club.

That news item is from about 18 months ago when Tony was appointed Life President.

Tony is a nice enough guy but he did support all the outgoing directors at the infamous Valiant 2001 EGM. His mantra was that you support the directors unconditionally. I woulld not mind betting that he is a massive Jeremy Corbyn fan for that reason only.

Yes sir,no sir.......?

Tony Fradley indeed chucked a bit of cash at Smurthwaite, mainly through match sponsorships etc before he was offered the role of Life President. Spent a large percentage of his working life on the railways before going into business. His daughter used to post on here back in the day as Fradders. Uncanny when you think about it. At least she didn't use a hideous pseudonym though. I get the impression, and this could be a touch wide of the mark here, that Smurthwaite has sold to the American soccer guys from Boston and that Fradley will act as their nodding puppet at Vale Park. Certainly for the first few months of any new ownership anyhow.

Just a few points. I don't believe that you are my friend. I'm glad that you belong to an exclusive group who love and care for the Vale, I've supported the Valiants since 1953. I have never been a fan of Norman Smurthwaite since the first meeting after he and Paul Wildes bought the Club. I am not impressed by your condescending tone.

You'll get over it.

It doesn't alter the fact that we have been shafted by a wannabe celebrity egotistical chairman.
