Everything tha's going on in America now is all Obama's fault . He stoked the fires of racism for 8 years , and now he is standing back , with his Islamic cape on and laughing at it all. "He could have been my son" , about that pos Trayvon Martin , not saying a word while Ferguson burned, and again and again. He had a lot to answer for . May he rot in hell , the *******. That's all I've got to say about that, and it's the truth.

No, it's your opinion.

Members of the alt-right received a permit to protest (as it is their right) at the planned removal of the statue of Robert E Lee (a Confederate General who was "involved" in slavery in the US) in the South. Apparently about 500 protesters turned up who were policed by ca 1000 riot police/swat teams, all was peaceful til the members of the left and members of the Black Lives Matter organizations turned up WITHOUT a permit to demonstrate (which is illegal).

Various sources quote that what happened next was the police "somehow" stood down/dissappeared and the two sides atarted going at each other. Once the rioting started a State of Emergency was declared and the police returned. Unfortunately one idiot from the far right drove a car into a crowd of leftists/BLM and a fatality/injuries occurred a la the events at the Finsbury mosque (?) a few weeks back.

Trump claims his response to the event was delayed 'cause he wanted to know the facts, Obama did the same a number of times eg Ferguson riots.

There are a number of social issues at play here, freedom of speech, African Americans and the left still want reperations for slavery and claim continuing social injustice and the right are frustrated by the amount of political correctness eg sanctuary cities etc that exist in the USA.

Don't shoot the messenger.

I won't shoot the messenger Paul, but choice of words matter a LOT. Would you have described the person who mowed down people in Nice as 'an idiot' or a terrorist/murderer/evil doer. How about the one in London on the bridge, or the Berlin one in the Christmas market.

'Idiot' is not really the right word, and softens the crime far too much, as does describing it as just 'unfortunate'.

Just waiting for our resident manipulator to post 'lets hope some good comes out of this' - perhaps it will, in that given a little more time, Trump will actually destroy the USA, and it will be consumed in anarchy, financial ruin, world conflicts, and ultimately another civil war.

But the cost will be terrible for all and much as I'd like to see no USA exist, I can't wish such suffering and death on millions of the decent ones there, even if Trump doesn't care.

Surely Jeremy Corbyn and Diane Abbott must share some of the blame ? And Putin, Nicola Sturgeon, the EU, that LGBT lot, those anti-Fracking protesters, the BBC, oh and the Venezuelans, plus of course Cuba. And Michael Brown, with that win ratio.

I'm told they all wear Islamic capes in bed every night.

'And it's the truth'.

ps 'The fires of racism' - good name for a heavy metal band, they could dress up in white hoods and... oh wait a minute.

Don't shoot the messenger.

What rot. A Nazi murdered an anti-Nazi protestor in broad daylight and people want to talk about 'both sides'. This a very deliberate tactic to create a false equivalency.

The word "Idiot" was used in this context as someone who did something that shouldn't have been done. I was not writing a patent where in the past I, amongst a team of people, have spent hours debating the meaning and context of one word. My post was to give information not an opinion.

Just remember the initial demonstration was ca 500 people, a very, very small % of the population of the USA.

I don't understand the criticism of Trump in the days after. He came out straight away and condemned hatred violence and bigotry on many sides. I think he had it covered with that.

The far left, especially in America are proving time and time again that they are the most violent and bigoted side. Look at antifa and black lives matter. The USA would be a much better and safer place for everyone if those two never existed.

It's false to pretend that one side is worse than the other because one person happened to drive his car into a crowd.

I don't remember Obama being forced to condemn black lives matter and far left violence after the baton rouge murders.

my post was to give information

Very subjective information. I'm guessing from Fox News / Breitbart / Infowars / some similar source.

These were actual Nazis. White Supremacists. The Klan. The march was nominally to protest the removal of statues of people who fought to preserve slavery. There were people giving Hitler salutes, carrying burning torches, chanting "Sieg Heil", "Blood and soil", "You will not replace us", even "Jews will not replace us". Plenty turned up armed to the teeth as some sort of self-styled militia.

Perhaps you want to argue that the people protesting against that sort of ****, people who believe in fighting racism and bigotry, are in the wrong. The whole 'both sides are as a bad as the other' argument. If you want to believe that then fair enough, I can guess where your sympathies lie.

I'm sure I could find quite a few people who would say the world would be a better place if Trump, his Nazi followers and people who post supporting them never existed, but I have to say that you are definitely not a racist or a bigot and are only criticising Black Lives Matter in a totally unbiased way.

Your choice of words branding a cold blooded killer as an 'idiot' and the incident as 'unfortunate' is not information, it is opinion. You are entitled to it, but at least don't be a weasel and try to say otherwise.

Idiots spray graffiti, throw litter and deliver UKIP leaflets peeing in people's gardens, all of which falls a little short of mowing down a truly heroic young woman deliberately and injuring 19 others.

I notice you ignored this and chose not to answer it, but other people will as well.

I am quite aware that 500 people is a tiny number of the USA population, and made reference to the decent people living there, but would be less worried if that 500 didn't have a few million brain-dead confed Nazis supporting what they did, including Trump and many in his regime.
