This^, I can't believe anyone would actually take the 'sudden injury' excuse as a valid one these days, the amount of times in the past I've heard one of our players be 'injured', for them to have left the club a day or two later...

Celtic, Rangers - that's 2, and that's ignoring the Edinburgh clubs, who if in our PL could redevelop their grounds and would attract the support. Hope Jak is under a decent length contract ( can't remember) because I'm sure he could go for no fee/compensation to Scotland, if out of contract in the summer.

 

Who are Rangers other than a team with no history in financial trouble like the old team in their name? 😉

I understand he has a release clause in his contract. The club in question are deciding whether to trigger that release clause this window or wait until the summer.

 

It's a shame that we haven't prioritised giving new contracts to young stars like Alnwick and Streete, who will be wanted by other clubs and who will play at a higher level than League One. That's the Vale way though.

If you're implying that we still have plenty of time, that's great. Personally, I'd rather the club had the foresight to offer our best players long term deals and not wait until the last months of their contract to try to secure them. Two reasons - i) It'd be good to have that bigger picture, strategic approach to squad management at the club, ii) If you allow the contract to run into the final few months the players may start looking elsewhere, which not only affects their performances but also creates competition from other clubs which ultimately results in us having to pay him more to secure him on a new contract.

my mates on trail with macc at the moment and he said that Rowe is by far the best player at the club, so hopefully we can get a deal done for him!
