Tone, it IS about the club for me. The Chairman in my opinion has really brought our club in to disrepute with his rantings over the last twelve months or so. I think (and I might be wrong) that there is more chance of the Chairman selling up if he has to keep pumping money in to pay the bills and wages etc.I am still getting my Vale fix by going to away games. I hope that Vale fans do not regret their "love in" with Mr Smurthwaite but I am still to be convinced that the Chairman is good for Port Vale, we will see and just hope that my fears are unfounded. We will see in the fullness of time.

Ray, for me (and I believe for most fans) the object is to get back to the 2nd tier. If NS gets us there, he'll be a hero. The next 7 months will tell. Best wishes.

Politics politics who gives a **** just get down the Vale and support the lads I couldn't give a flying **** what Smurf has said nobody stops me from going to see the Vale

My Dad would have been 93 today and we as a family are Matchball Sponsors today in his memory as its his birthday today, he was a supporter for over 80 odd years and didn't give a toss who was in charge or what anybody said he loved his football

He would have had a laugh today because I suppose you could call him a 'stayaway supporter' but nothing upsets me more than wishing he was with us he would have loved the football we are playing now.

That makes no sense if you went from 2003-2011 with the filth that was in charge then though surely?

Nothing really changes its always ups and downs. I started in the late 50's and the gates always seemed to be in the tens of thousand especially the promotion year. Mid 60s we were down to what we have now. I remember one game, with Colchester I think, we lost and we had about two thousand there (It was very cold). 70's even worse memories. 90's picked up a bit 7 or 8 thousand. Back down to the 4 thousand now. But who knows what the next season brings.

I agree, if you can afford and are able, you should get yourself down the park and support the lads.

But politics, politics, you John were as vociferous as anyone in the v2001 war, or have you forgotten that?

No cash turnstiles is not an excuse to not attend. So what, you have to stand in a queue for 5 mins to get a ticket. Once you have your ticket you fly through the turnstiles because we are not barcelona (although the football at home makes us look like we are) so we haven't got queues stretching down the Hamil. It's pure laziness and is more of a little inconvenience than a reason not to attend. It's one of the little petty things that everyone has. My petty thing is how horrible the seats look around the ground because there are about 50 different colours but i'm not gonna let that put me off attending. If vale did open cash turnstiles, next people will be moaning that at some point they would have to go to the bank or a hole in the wall to draw the money out and the club should go fetch it for them. The football is great, Vale is great, increase the gate!

People like to have an excuse not to attend, the club needs to make it difficult for them to find excuses, I only mentioned cash turnstiles as one example.

There will always be another excuse, 'I loved Bratt', 'I can't believe they've knocked down the Railway Stand bogs', 'the quality of football is too good', 'I'm not going as I don't like the chairman'.

They are all daft excuses and that's their sad problem.
