Unless we can sign a few cracking players and have a really great season some folk are going to be eating a great deal of humble pie by Xmas.

 

But spinning it around and putting a positive slant on it if we do sign a few cracking players and do have a good season there will be a heck of a lot more eating a good deal more humble pie.

 

I'm sure we can find players of similar ability but with a great deal more heart and desire than those that have left, O'Connor and Neal aside, if we do things are on the up.

Can't disagree with than Santa. I never like the sort of vitriol that is directed at some of our players and Moore's recent history has been far from happy.

 

I do agree Jacko, doesn't deserve stick for that reason, but at the same time, we shouldn't have to feel like we should continuously stick with him if he can't perform. I know Vale have offered him a new contract, but I'm glad he hasn't signed, hopefully a new start elsewhere will help him, & hope he does well (obviously not against us). However, I don't think he's a player we'll miss that much, just not consistent enough.

Moore was a good player and one - yet again - that we will miss.

His first touch, control, and ability to keep the ball with his twists and turns was really very impressive. At times him and Purkiss were very good together. His goalscoring return was not great but he had bags of natural talent and as remarked above he's had a tough last 18 months.

Like Dodds, I'm sorry he's gone.

Some comments on here about him are unsurprising but a little unfair.

I like the lad but we won't miss him at all, how can we miss a bench warmer lots of players can do that job!

I liked Byron too he could have a great game but equally a frustrating one, notice of all the players going to other clubs none have aspired to go any higher with most going to lower opposition....what does that say!!

 

If we aspire to be top six we need Premier loanees or Championship quality at least and quality not quantity

Let's be frank here, some of Moore's performances bordered on the disgraceful. He often seemed genuinely terrified and would either back out of a challenge or hold back for so long the play had moved on. I don't know if it was a psychological problem for him or he was just a big girls blouse but he's someone I won't miss I'm afraid.

Fair enough. I can see why some would dislike him, and we'll have to agree to disagree, but for me he's twice the player Kelly is and we've kept him! I know who I'd rather have in my team, by a country mile.

How in any way will we miss Moore? He couldn't have had more than 3 good games for us... He was dreadful last season, a very typical winger at this level. Hope he does well down there but I imagine he will be similar to here

Not bothered. Smurf is only getting rid of these players because he has lots of money to buy better ones and get a top class manager. He only offered cheap deals to get rid of the rubbish ones and Page, as he keeps telling us.

 

I look forward in anticipation of all these amazing alternatives the new manager has lined up.

 

Adam Yates signing was all we needed. Never too fussed about O'Connor, Letch-Smith, Dodds, Dicko or any of the other first team regulars who got us to our highest finish in league 1 since McPhee.

 

All coincidental. Yates is is the real driving force behind it all.

The only player that l'm dissapointed has left is Dodds. Having said that I'm concerned that we are getting close to the bare bones. Smurf's strategy is high risk in the extreme and to all of you that say it will be okay - I bloody well hope so - because what I see at the moment is a complete and utter shambles.

 

Before anyone says anything I have bought my season ticket not because of Smurf be in spite of him.

Ive met Bert on one of Jimmys funbuses a few years ago.

Vale through and through. And easily approachable.

No problem with you being so opinionated. Its just sad ypu have to hide behind a keyboard.
