Absolute legend. Loved the goal for Jamaica as well. Probably achieved more in the game than any other Vale player, second only to Aspo in my affections.

A truly great player who would sweat blood for Vale. It was even more satisfying to watch the young midfielder develop under our legendary Rudgie, and to enjoy his blossoming partnership with Ray Walker, whose style of play was quite different but together the pair terrified the opposition.

Of course, any player this good will always have to go to a bigger club eventually, but whilst I thought Vale did really well to get £900k for Beckford, the £750k (approx.) for Robbie Earle seemed to short-change us a bit.

Wimbledon got a bargain, and several years magnificent service too, from the young Stoke reject who had helped take Vale 'back to where we once belonged'.

Many happy returns Robbie, you won't be forgotten here in a hurry.:)

I played with and against Robbie in my youth!

Thoroughly nice guy and his goal against Rovers was one of the highlights in my time watching Vale
