New CEO?

geosname

Recommended Posts

Given smurf insists on doing everything himself and he didnt like wildes spending his money what will a new CEOs role entail and what will the actual cost be?

Will a CEO be expected to do every job or will other people be employed to oversee key areas?

Will the cost of a CEO [smurf isnt paid] increase the sale price of the club or will the cost be deducted from the playing budget/running costs?

If the running costs are being subsidised to the tune of 80,000 a month [presumably stopping when smurf steps back] how long can the club sustain its ongoing contracts, commitments, overheads and new employee/s?

Given the widespread public humiliation created my *****hape of late, who in their right mind is now going to take on the temporary role of CEO to front the club on behalf of such a volatile idiot? He's totally ****ed it for himself now.

EDIT - **** is censored? Really?

Note: Yes, similarly spelt words used to get round the swear filter are censored - that's been the case on OVF for ages. We ban swearing (other places don't and you may disagree) but it is clearly in our rules - Rob F;)

For what reason?

If there is a covenant about football being played at vale park for 25 years the ground is worthless until the expiry date, the buildings would become worthless, contracts would have to be paid off, overheads, although reduced, would still accrue and have to be paid, less money would be coming in, losses would build and unless the economy and house prices sky rocket the land wouldnt be worth the needed asking price.... just my opinion of course

Perry may be available... or similar.

But good point, who would take on the job on a temporary basis and want to include it on their CV on departure.... and be answerable to the elephant in the room

Smurf is joking when he says he'll employ a CEO to run the Club in his absence. Who in their right mind would work for a seemingly crazy individual for the "peanuts" that will be on offer, for a short space of time? What power and/or authority would this individual have? Is Smurf honestly believing that 1 person will do ALL the jobs required? I know his answer will be that he already does it, but that was his choice and it's abundantly clear he or 1 person is incapable of achieving success in every job required to run such a business.

A CEO should simply run the business side of the club and manage the finances and business plan etc.

Any salary for a CEO should come from the clubs coffers and will therefore reduce the playing budget.

If the owner won't invest any more money of his own, and also leaves the business management to a CEO then effectively the owner would be stepping back, keeping an eye on balancing the books and waiting his time out.

In reality, the owner will be lucky to get the quoted £4.25 million.

Ok so he paid £1.25 million to buy the club, and so should look to regain that money.

However, if the other £3 million is for his additional funding expenditure etc on ground updates and playing salary, why on earth would a new buyer pay for those expenses.

Surely the only additions on top of the £1.25 million would be the costs spent on improving the ground/stadium assets.

Any spend on the playing budget is gone and is historic expenses.

I (like many fans) have spent money over the years on the Vale, however, when I decide to no longer go to the games I'm not expecting to get all my money back!

Time all round for some ego's to be reduced back to reality size. That goes for Smurf, RP, Players, and Fans!

Time for the fans to attend VP.

Time for the Players to Play!

Time for RP to adopt a more positive approach in his tactics and desire to win, and help the team to win.

Time for Smurf to accept that football is not like every other business, profit and loss are very different, and the life of a football club owner is very rarely a profitable one.

Also all the current over reaction to a simple cup defeat needs to be put into context given the wider issues in the UK and the World.

Its a game, hopefully entertaining, lets all help each other and get back to some positivity and enjoy the beautiful game.

VTID (and after with a bit of luck)

There won`t be any new employees unless they are much cheaper than ones they replace. To lose £80k a month here is ridiculous and shows how even at this level players are way overpaid.

Why ? Any expenses relating to the ground would have to be paid as it is in a separate company. But why pay off contracts in the other company if you are just closing it down? I doubt whether it would happen as the Directors loan would be worthless.
