What are you worried about? Do you think they've done it for free? Do you think they're receiving back handers and giving away sponsorship for free? Do you think they are trying to tie the club down to longterm deals that wouldn't be in it's best interests? Do you have too much time on your hands?

If the board announce figures then a precedent has been set for the next 5 years. By not announcing the value of the sponsorship they are free to lower and raise the cost of stand sponsorship depending on how we progress or to match the demand

Ssssh. What you don't know won't hurt you.

I think if you follow the past of old lemonhead and speak to people who have been involved with him along the way at Birmingham, Derby and Northants, you will see an oh so familiar pattern being formed here.

We have a new poster, Secure Identity (how apt), who is going to try and convince us all is above board and well. Time will tell but for anyone in doubt ring up and speak to anyone in the marketing department at Northants CCC to see what sorts of problems old lemonheads long term deals have left them in and seek their opinion of him. Speak to other ex-business associates of lemonhead from his Birmingham days to see what they think of him.

Old Lemonhead is setting up the exact sorts of deals here as he did elsewhere and you don't have to question why if you do the above research. It all stinks and will cost the club more than it makes it, mark my words.

So which one of the banned posters are you then eh?

The Hamil Road end was sponsored as part of the deal for Sneyd Builders to refurbish Tommy Cheadles. They didn't get paid, they got the sponsorship.

So the sponsorship deal for the Paddock may be tied into that. The fact is none of us know what the deal is. So you're in no position to mouth off about the facts because you're as clueless as the rest of us.

When Peter Swales was under pressure to sell to Franny Lee at Manchester City, he negotiated similar long term deals with the catering, club shop and other income streams so that when he was finally ousted, the new board had their hands tied and couldn't fulfil their promises, which turned the fans against them, especially as the books were in a worse state than originally believed. This coupled with the onus to redevelop the Kippax led to serious cash flow problems and a need to off load high earning players, who also tended to be the better ones. This cumulated in the team fallin gtwo divisions very quickly, and only through luck, did they managed to recover. Sound familiar?

Poisoned Chalice is the expression. You could be right. But what happens if Vale is no longer attractive to any investor? They have sold the future to stay in power, manager and CEO on long contracts, oh dear.
