How come none of these Clubs see through incompetent, unliked, totally inappropriate managers? In the real world "fatty" would be on the dole permanently. Gets my goat that there are so many other managers and wannabies out there that their prospects are ruined by the inadequates of the Soccer world.

Agreed. He's achieved more with Crawley and Rotherham than Micky did with us. We worshipped at Micky's feet when he took us up (well, some did). If ever a manager did for us what Evans has done then I think they be made a Saint. He's a moron of a bloke, but a top football manager at the level he's at whether we like it or not.

Look at the three managers who got automatic promotion from our league in 2013: him, Micky Adams and Martin Allen. They're all managers you'd hate unless they managed your club in which case you'd love them.

 

You need to be a bit of a See You Next Tuesday to be a successful football manager and Evans has that in spades.

I really think it is unfair to group Micky Adams and even Martin Allen with Steve Evans as far as personality goes.

 

Yes, the first two could be rude, uncooperative to the media, stubborn and politically incorrect - but a bit of research on Steve Evans past dealings reveals FAR more than that, and as far as I am aware Micky at least has had nothing like those problems.

 

All three are/were good managers in their own way, Micky though is more of a 'wear your heart on your sleeve' and too open/honest for his own good sometimes, despite his obvious successes Evans does not fall into that category whatsoever.

Generally spaking..none of us really know what a manager is like when the dressing room door closes..might be the nicest chap in the world in all other situations but as you say something very different when dealing with players

I think he will do a good job there. I don't think he will last long though before Cellino ends up sacking him for someone else. No one careers is secure at Leeds.
