I think it was simply banter.

 

To be fair to Lee, he has to do several hours live broadcasting every week, I reckon it's no easy task to do that without the odd mistake or joke falling flat.

Not a fan of him as he makes so many mistakes and thinks the world owes him something. He is way too pally with the manager of the station so don't expect and complaints to go anywhere.
