What have BBC Radio Stoke got to do with the club? Last time I checked they worked for the BBC and not Port Vale?

I make approx one post in 12 months and then accused of constant moaning. I happen to think radio stoke do an excellent job - I also like listening to Blakeman and Williams very much. I just think that this comment was bit insulting to the good folk of Stoke (perhaps I am too PC and need to lighten up ).

Lee and ray are great.we can all speak pots,but lee has little cracks with ray and that comment was fun. Lets stop being so negative about the least little thing.

I don't see any moaning about the Vale, just some twonk from the radio who needs to give his head a wobble fairly regularly ;)

Blakeman just done his post match interview with Page and I'm sure he said about the AT Carlisle on Tuesday.

He did, also some crude remark about rays "hard bottom" when they got some bizzare conversation about how rays stomach wasnt feeling good.

 

Its easy to workout how radio Stoke miss things that happen in the game.

 

Also notice they rolled in the signal big gun (last season) of Mike Pedgic for their Stoke game. They as a station really are going backwards.

Christ almighty there was some constantly repeated crud he spouted today with regards to pies and Lee 'not that one' Evans!

 

Any chance you can actually focus on what's going on during the game Blakeman, maybe you wouldn't get the criticism you refer to as banter if you did? ;)

I think Radio Stoke is in the best situation it's been in for years. In Lee Blakeman and Phil Bowers we have two of the better commentators we've had in recent years. Most of the presenters are pretty decent (aside from the awful James Watt) and it's actually enjoyable to listen to the station again. Unlike Signal which is an absolute pile of crap, has one decent presenter and gives airtime to George Andrews who is the most annoying gob on the airwaves.

They are in dire state. All brought about since the new station manager arrived (just google his past especially in Birmingham commercial stations if you want some background on him). He has brought his mates like Watt an Blakeman with him. Increased costs at the station with double presented shows and has an obsession with promoting women as the sake of any quality.

Promoting women? They have ONE weekend show and one specialist show presented solely by a woman which is not good enough. They have one female presenter in a weekday and while she (Charlotte Foster) is exceptionally good at what she does, she still has to play second fiddle to Stuart George. They have two regular double presented shows and their breakfast shows have been double presented for years. They've had double presented shows going back to the days of Den and Ally.

 

Signal does well in ratings because there is no local commercial rival. Free Radio Shropshire is far better despite their recent changes which are for the worse. We are between frequencies for Heart and out of range for Capital.

I don't like him at all and I'd tend to agree on your point.

 

However on this specific issue I think he tried and failed with 'banter'.
