What is the Identity and vision for the club for the next 2 seasons ?

The crowds are 1000 down the season just gone compared to the last. He has had to reevaluate and rightly so. I have no sympathy with anyone on here who doesn't attend and whinges about our direction and ambition. It works the other way round for us to be a stable club. Put some faith in the Chairman and get a season ticket and then we can talk about direction.

After the last 2 seasons in league 1 and the proposed 1.7m wage budget. Do you think Norman has a clear vision & proposal where the club should be in the next 2 seasons to strengthen the identity of PVFC and push on ...

What would yours be, based on the fact that football gates are getting lower, its more expensive to watch live at a time when working people's wages are being squeezed and bled dry and the Prem is shafting every club outside it and we don't have a middle eastern despot with a few spare billions ? plus a Premiership club doing more than ok just a few miles away to squeeze support even more.

Stuck for an answer, perhaps... if so, leave a very supportive and sensible Chairman to stabilise our club and make sure firstly that there remains a Port Vale FC, and secondly that if the opportunity arises in the form of good signings, a decent cup run and proper support not posts like this, then PVFC can take advantage and work towards a higher status.

That

Yes I agree the Chairman is supportive and bin quite sensible (twitter) over the last 3 seasons and the club has been stabilised and moved forward.

Over the last 3 seasons the highest attendance was against Northampton 12,496 approximately 2000 away fans and approximately 4500 season ticket holders. So that leaves a potential 6,000 floating fans who are interested at a point when the club is arguably at its highest spike of success and glory.

So on that basis of the above paragraph what is the identity and vision for these floating fans to buy season tickets to acheive a bigger budget and better gates ?

I've got plenty of faith in the chairman who has rescued and spent his hard earned cash on the club ! So on that assumption you've got to buy a season ticket and wait and see what happens ? So how does that answer or rant answer what is the identity and vision for the future to achieve better budgets and higher gates to entice the floating fan ?

That's the exact same mistake Valiant 2001 made. You can't run a business with the idea being you buy this worthless crap off me for a few years then i'll start selling good products that are worth buying.

Would you give money to any business with that attitude? It can never work and ultimately leads to bankruptcy.

In the long term we are all dead. Immediate aim should be to win every competition we enter and every match we play. Strategy is to develop our own young players including cast offs from other clubs and sell them on to provide the club with a sound financial basis.

Sounds like a identity a club which can develop its own young players and signings and sell for a transfer fee giving a club an income to invest back into the club.

Sounds like a vision to develop 1st team players into a better team to compete with other clubs to potentially climb the football pyramid.

I think NS was right when he set out his vision which was to stabilise the club and develop younger players. There will always be floating fans with a passing interest in Vale and football. Lets be honest unless we draw a huge Prem side on a cup run or have another promotion party we will not see those 6000 again at one match. Stoke 'found' 14000 fans when they had there promotion run in and then there current spell in the top flight. I think our future is through developing young players from our own system and through other clubs. Having a manager who has a team that plays attractive football that over time will draw a few floating fans back.
