Hi,

Chairman Norman Smurthwaite will be on BBC Radio Stoke from 6pm to 7pm on Monday evening.

You can contact them in the usual way:

Text 81333, start your message with 'STOKE'

Phone 01782 208008

Or I suspect if you ask a question on this thread, you may also get it asked to him too. ;)

Thanks,

Rob

Norman you have rewarded an inexperienced manager with 1 win in 11 games at the end of the season a 2 year deal. Simple question why? (No excuse about not his own squad as he has offered all but 3 bit part players a deal)

In fairness TripleJ there was only 11 points separating 7th and 18th place after 46 games :)

Norman do you realise that any money that you are likely to save on the budget if you allow Tom Pope to leave will be swallowed up and more by lack of Season Ticket sales. Though you obviously don't realise it yet Tom is a vital part of Port Vale.

Norman do you get fed up of hearing the same old crap from port Vale supporters? I presume you will be addressing the rain and cold during the winter months to avoid some fans using this as an excuse not to buy a season ticket

My question was genuine interest. What does he see day in day out that is so good. I have St for next year already

Yes, I know that bon ami, but as we all know it's all determined by the Budget.

Still, a week's a long time in football and we may yet see Tom in a Vale shirt in 2015/16 :D

That's the crux, the Budget. We have to live within our means and abide by rules.People not buying STs can't expect big wages for players.Personally,I think £1.7m is a decent budget for League 1.Not the biggest(not allowed)not the smallest(allowed)Its massive compared to what the previous tools set. What was it ?About £1 million?Looking at last season's budget plus the extra that was put in, amounted to £2.4 million. Not bad on an average of 5000 wouldn't you say.
